@Tattertotter: I was thinking the same thing...and I'm a lesbian. I think that proves he's pretty damn hot. PLUS, Anchorman was a jewel that should have been a huge hit. Tim Robbins as the PBS brawler: "No commercials and no mercy." #jaketapper
@Parah_Salin: Yup, dear Paul has been the best thing in so many crappy movies. I just saw "You Could Never be My Man" with Michelle Pfeiffer and he was the most adorable I've seen him since "Object of my Affection." He needs a better agent. #jaketapper
Right or wrong, if our government quiets all voices with different opinons than theirs, we find ourselves exactly where Germany was 70 years ago. Fox is no worse a conservative opinion than MSNBC is a liberal opinion.
@LaniCrius: Germany again, there are more recent example that you can cite but then I wouldn't make that mental connection between Obama and Hitler so yeah stick with Germany #jaketapper
Just waiting for the sound of hoofbeats. And wonderfully comical protest signs that say, "Fox News is Real News. Real News for Real People Living in the Real America. Really." #jaketapper
In these trying economic times, you have to admire someone who is managing to keep his present job while publicly interviewing for his next gig. Roger, are you listening? Wittle Jake wants a job. #jaketapper
@Mediahohoho:
Didn't Jake Tapper (fuck, I can't say that name without laughing) used to write for Salon... alongside I believe Eric Boehlert.... #jaketapper
the whitehouse didn't decide anything for anyone. they issued a statement and gibbs very specifically said that it was their 'opinion'.
fox news has completely blurred the lines between reporting and ridiculous pundit opinions...and that is the main problem people have with the organization.
the more beck is highlighted as a ridiculous, inflammatory, bullshitting idiot, the higher his ratings go. you think they'll get rid of him in the name of journalistic purity? i doubt it. the same goes for just about every 'news' show that station has right now.
fox news theater company, more like it. #jaketapper
@waltzngmatlda: Actually, there has never been a line between reporting and political theater at Fox News. They are one and the same, as their history of issuing policy directives about how all stories must be covered has proven time and again. #jaketapper
I think Tapper is correct; it isn't up to the WH to decide what is or isn't a "legitimate" news outlet. But then, I use Gawker as my major source of news. You should have a WH correspondent.
As a reporter who covered WH briefings all summer, I can say that this is not the first time "strategery" has been used, and when I heard it used, it was absolutely used seriously. I don't think the reporter was dumb enough to think it was a real word, I think we just hear it all the time and it just slips into your head as a real word.
@LisaCurio: okay, when you heard it, it was used seriously, but you don't think the reporter thought it was a real word, even though "it slips into your head as a real word"? it might help to put the bong down before you compose a comment.
