@AuntPenny: My favorite is the Albert Finney/Alec Guinness musical version. Grew up with it and really don't care to see a newer, over-hyped, effects over-loaded, charmless version, thank you very much!
I actually saw ACC. I happen to love the story, but this version is unbearable--endless falling and screaming and shock effects that belong in a George Romero film, not something Granny and Gramps are going to go take the kids to see. #robertzemeckis
@The Sneak: Nobody. It's a marketing ploy. They know they've got a stinker, but if they put it out there for more weeks (kinda like the consumer shopping numbers during the holidays) than Christmas movies previous they can possibly fudge the numbers on the gross receipts. Opening the week after Halloween is a sure sign a Christmas-themed movie is awful. #robertzemeckis
@the_lerpa: It cost $150M and actually made $196M. Technically speaking, it probably didn't even turn a profit, barely breaking even once marketing costs were factored in. No, this movie exists because Polar Express turned into a surprise IMAX hit and that's what they're hoping for. #robertzemeckis
