    @Swifter: You know, instead of just winging comment out there you can actually go find lots and lots of her statements and interviews. She's given loads and loads of interviews over the years and honestly doesn't seem to care at all anymore, about any of it.

    I think Gawker got this almost exactly wrong. I think the least pathetic, and most graceful letter of all, came from the only man, apparently, who still has a producing job in television, Pat Curry of WGN.

    Yes, he's sympathetic (perhaps even syncophantic), but still seems, to me, to be genuine, caring, and professional.

    The Oprah crowd has been exposed to so much "look at me" empathy, that they can't distinguish it from a sincere, polite, declaration of caring.
