My family has been naming girls "Isabella" or a variant for more than 300 years -- it was apparently a very popular name in Scotland. I resent the fact that it's suddenly all trendy. I'm going to have to name my kid Elspeth at this rate... #isabelReply
hahahaha nice i like how this random cases apper in the web lol, remember the credit card wii case, in the past i had trouble with microsoft and its points, i was using the zune marketplace and it randomly purchased 4000 points without me consenting to do so and it took me a while to reach the head manager for refunds and then it took more time for me to get a refund but i did. It was so annoying every time i called they transfered me to the manager of the manager of the manager and when i got hold of that manager then he transfered me to the head manager of the head manager..... well you get my point. #dogordersmicrosoftpointsReply
Well if this is just about the Forbes piece, then I'd say it is flawed for a few reasons others have pointed out. But if this is about relationships between parents and their children, and what impact befriending your child in lieu of parenting your child, a point made in the somewhat clunky piece, I'd say they're making a valid point. The key to that sentence, though, is "in lieu of"--parents and children can form strong bonds of friendship that are not necessarily unhealthy, but most often this seems to develop more as the child grows into adulthood rather than when the child is still a child. Parents that are still clinging on to their childhood, trying to hang out with teenagers, and neglect the authoritarian responsibilities have problems they need to deal with, but since they don't, the problem just gets passed along to the child.

See, I like this stuff a lot, in spite of knowing I can never, ever wear it. Maybe after I've been dead for a while. I feel better about my meh on the Lohan collection.Reply
Am I alone in my distaste for the high belt line in modern cars? With the AE86 or a mid 90's Civic I can rest my arm comfortably on the door with the window down. I can see more of the road to my side. I can see more of the hood and road in front of me. In general I feel that most older cars allowed me a wider viewing angle and thus greater driving enjoyment. I'm guessing it's safety related that they're constantly being raised? To me, that essence of being in touch with your surroundings is lost when you bring the sides up too high.Reply
@CARBOMB: Definitely not alone. Airbags and increased cabin strength requirements were the main drivers of the change. Those are also the reasons we're now cursed with foot-wide A- and B-pillars.
I didn't love many things about my carbureted '88 Accord LX, but I sure loved the view out the front and sides.Reply
First first order of business for terrified kids is to beat something to death. If you look closely at the photographs you can see the pink/purple mottled bruising around its head. Whatever this creature turns out to be, it obviously felt fear, pain and confusion. It's not the creature that's ugly in this.Reply

A "free" samples lady at Sam's Club tried pulling this crap on me one time. I pulled her wig over her eyes and swiped all the samples. Mmmm pizza rolls...Reply
