This following is for Ryan and any other person who fees the need to shit on my hometown.

I don't hate it here, Ryan. I fucking love the Bay Area.
What I do I hate is self-satisfied white crybabies who move here to work in the South Bay, live in overpriced SOMA security buildings and clog highway 101 every morning because public transit has too many poor brown people.
I hate them for moving to our favorite neighborhoods for "the atmosphere" and then complaining about "noise" from established music venues like Slims and The GAMH. Because no, really...we love having our favorite landmarks threatened every time some twat who commutes all the way to Apple HQ can't sleep.
But I digress.
So Emeryville had a corrupt mayor?
Really?
It's common fucking knowledge that Emeryville is and always has been a corrupt shithole. It broke away from Oakland so that it could allow gambling, whoring and several other unsavory activities many, many years ago. It was a toxic chemical dumping ground until firms like Pixar (and others moved in) and paved everything over.
When I was a kid people went to Trader Vic's on the other side of I-80 and that was it. Period. Everything else got you stabbed or gave you cancer.
But hey...I'll bite. Are there any other amazing discoveries you've made lately?

I'm about as open-minded on sexual matters as you can find in California, and what he did was trashy, period, full stop. (I may be a slut, but I'm a slut with ethics, thank you very much.)
I suspect that the only reason alcohol abuse even entered the discussion is that a lot of people consider rehab to be a "get out of shit free" card. #gavinnewsom

And the "humiliatingly public fashion" has exactly jack shit to do with Newsom. Or do you think he's a political masochist and wanted that shit to get out? The fact that it went public was entirely to do with the dysfunction in the marriage you think he broke up. (Because its not like there weren't 2 people involved in this affair - unless you assume the woman wasn't responsible for her actions?)
On a similar note, do you think that Maria Belen is to blame for breaking up Mark Sanford's marriage. Or are you happy with that double standard? #gavinnewsom

She collected over 10k of donated paid leave time from her co-workers when she left her job as Gavin's appointments secretary to go to rehab - because apparently getting drunk and doing the Mayor qualifies as a Catastophic Illness.
But I'm surprised that Ryan resisted the urge to bring up Gavin's other ex-squeeze, 20 year-old Brittanie Mountz. #gavinnewsom

Maria Belen didn't employ either one of the Sanfords, so it's hardly a valid comparison.
Ruby Rippey-Tourk was an aide to Newsom, and Alex Tourk was Newsom's former deputy chief of staff and his campaign manager; in short, they were employees and part of his political family.
Getting caught in an affair with a subordinate is never a wise career move, whether it's in public life or private business. As others have said, this incident reflects very poorly on his temperament.
If he's willing to fuck over his friends this way, imagine what he's capable of doing to people he doesn't know at all, like the 30-odd million people of California. #gavinnewsom

Santa Clara has a DA who cannot figure where her own best interests end and the county's begin. She invited her husband, a paid counselor for the family of a murder victim, to sit in on strategy sessions among the prosecutors of that case. She leaned on another prosecutor to reduce charges against a thief who was connected to - ta da! - one of her campaign oganizers.
Really sleazy stuff down even further. Wilcox High School has a principal from Mars. A teacher was charged with sex with a minor. The parents, and others, had complained about the creep to the principal, a deaf dud name of Taber, whose response was - to deny he heard anything about the matter. Then an enterprising janitor from the same school was outed for running a "modeling agency" on campus. Snapshots of girls on public display in the halls; he would go into a class and take out a cutie to discuss modeling. Some of the pix were suggestive. The janitor is utterly amazed at the uproar.
Does this happen back on earth? #gavinnewsom

Oh wait, none of the above. Nothing that would improve the lives of ordinary tax payers like myself. No, what we got was someone who talked a good talk on fucking climate change and gay marriage. This article singled out Newsom as part of a rogues' gallery of "Depraved and Criminal Mayors". I said I don't find him depraved or criminal. And that is all.
I'm well acquainted with SF people an their endless bitching and moaning about civic issues. Unbelievable crybabies. Yes, there's room for improvement in SF, a lot to be done. But seriously, appreciate what you have in SF, the most beautiful city in the US. Your city works compared to other dysfunctional metropolises. Or at least that's what I found when I lived there for 5 years recently. Go move to Detroit or even NYC if you want to bitch- you'll miss SF sorely. You don't appreciate how good you have it, and newsom is not personally to blame for civic ills that beset every city in the US. #gavinnewsom
