@Morningstar: Yep, Duke of Slough means overlord of David Brent's paper products empire. If you've ever seen the opening to the BBC's The Office, you have seen (and likely instantly forgotten) Slough.
@Morningstar: I've never been to Scranton, but spent enough time in Slough to last me the century.
(I meant that as a general comment, by the way -- "If one has seen the opening of The Office", blah blah)
seriously, drugs aside, he seems a nice enough sort. maybe given to a bit of hyperbole.
and who doesn't have THAT UNCLE?
juicy, but i call nonstarter here. i don't know how royalty works, but how many people would have to die for this guy to become king? everyone? this is probably something that could never happen.
then again i'm not english, so maybe i just don't care.
@♥Anti-SocialSocialite♥: Yeah, i concur. He seems like a funny, sociable guy. He isn't trying to milk his contacts with the royal family. The reporter is the one asking all the questions.
@♥Anti-SocialSocialite♥: ...also, he seemed to take issue with Harry dressing as an SS officer. I think the royal family could benefit from having someone like Uncle Gary in the family.
Also, I wonder if Queen Elizabeth has ever said something to the effect of, "He has 'new money' written all over him." That would be apt.
There is no such thing as a Nordic duchess. Not since the middle ages. Denmark, Norway, zero dukes, zero duchesses. Iceland, Finland, are you out of your mind? Sweden, well of course snobby Sweden has the name, even if it doesn't really have the thing. The royal princes and princesses of Sweden got permission to call themselves dukes and duchesses of various Swedish ruralities no further back than 30 years ago but what they actually are is a lot of meaningless little dicks and dickesses.
I'm a little late to this story but just a couple of quick items:
1) Exactly how evil is United Technologies?
2) I think I had a little fling with her at a Festival in Malmo. She was sooooo clingy.
3) Why did she owe him a $1.5M tax debt? Did they play Empire and Colonies? Did he tax her personally? Was this a part of their strenuous role-playing? "Oh-oh-oh, lower my basis...! Yes, yes... adjusted gross, adju-sted-grooooooooos!"
@Uncle_Billy_Slumming: Maybe on the 1.5 mil it was like, I bet you won't get that Swedish townhouse off me, gold digger!" And then after he was like, yeah, we're good...

Question: is this Uncle closely related to "Sir" James Goldsmith?

Cinco de Mayo is starting to become a pan-Latino thing. Also, Mexican regions have a variety of hats.

I'll take your word on the hats.
The Washington Post story that accompanies the picture of Michelle Obama, though, offers a slightly different picture.
