Or, you know, maybe like decades of knowledge selling ads actually is worth something and they actually sell for more money. Unlikely, but hey, seems weird he'd just outright lie.

@Lizstless: But does that knowledge travel over to selling Web ads unscathed? And how much would the LAT's online ads suffer from not being sold in packages with print ads? These are questions a thoughtful media critic might ask -- but not Jarvis, who seems content to make a pronouncement that A = B, therefore history has been made.

Ahh... Jeff Jarvis... the TV critic who got full of himself and started thinking that he knows what he's talking about. He's an fool, plain and simple, a fool that doesn't know how little he knows. The only sad thing is that he actually has an audience of people who believe his BS.

And yet, in December, according to the newpaper's own figures, its website only generated 120 million pageviews. At that rate, that's 2.2 million pageviews per employee per year.

Ok, but that number would skyrocket the second the print edition went sayonara. You starve an entire city of a print newspaper and a buttload of eyeballs are going to be surfing over to the Times' site.
