    When I get home from work tonight, I'm going to suggest to Mr. P (who is about one million times sexier than BW, BTW) that we set up our own early-middle-age photo spread. Some highlights include: Mr. P artfully arranged on our bed (only a queen b/c we're close like that), flat on his back, me scrunched up on the edge of my side, eyes wide open, a look of anger and frustration; the Mr. & Mrs. P couch dance, which is each of us on opposite ends of the couch, arranging and rearranging our legs in order to get comfy; and the secret late-night living room assignation, Mrs. P with a gigantic bowl of chocolate ice cream, Mr. P with a 20% EXTRA bag of Cheetos.

    The photos are so closed. It's like we cannot enter them, and they are only a conversation between the photographer and the subjects. And perhaps the editors at W.


    Compare to his photoshoot of Brad Pitt in W after Fight Club came out. Sexy, crazy, exhibitionist...but also a bit ambiguous, and open for interpretation. It is as if they invite the viewer to participate.


    Or am I crazy?

    Here's what these photos say to me: "We're really scared that people will know the truth: that we're not that sexually compatible, and maybe the old man's running out of juice these days. So we're going to compensate for our insecurity by posing for pictures that will make other people THINK we're all into the cutting-edge sex and such. Really, we just like to go home and play board games and watch Law and Order reruns."
