I am sick and tired of politicians treating Nancy Reagan with kit gloves. Like she is a shy wallflower without proper defense mechanisms. After reading her biography by Kitty Kelly, I would say she is more like a steel magnolia.

With all the evil she's done with her "drug war," and "drug treatment programs," (which tortured their detainees) and her murderous corruption, she deserves a lot more than gentle criticism.

She should spend the rest of her life as a prisoner in one of the cult-gulags she formed, after being blinded and truncated. If I had my way, I'd personally render that sentence with a smile, and I'd only apologize for not being crueler.

oh, and Hillary and Eleanor Roosevelt? That sounds like Gestalt open chair technique ... very effective and credible way to tap into inaccessible emotional responses and motivations and draw strength from understanding them better. One of the gawker therapists can probably comment better than I.

Sounds flaky, but is not. No flakier at all than the "What Would Jesus Do" motto. Same idea, and would anyone attempt to discredit that? No, I thought not.

After an administration who invades a country and starts a war for no fucking reason and kills thousands of young Americans in doing so, without regret or apology or the least bit (LEAST BIT) of insight (foresight OR hindsight or personal insight), having our president-elect apologize for a small gaffe is refreshing. This is a word I shall use a lot, I believe, over the next four years. Re-fucking-freshing.

It is blowing my mind to have a president elect who is smart and irreverent enough to make offhand cracks about Nancy Reagan. Given the circumstances I honestly don't think it was a very politic remark. But my mind is (happily) blown.

I simply attribute this to the high positive correlation between humour and intelligence.

What, you'd rather have (as you did and almost did) a humourless and stupid president?

Case closed. Suck it up repubs ... it WILL be like this. He's gonna call 'em out for their stupidity, no matter what side of the political fence they're on. I will cheer at every single one of these so-called gaffes and hope that enough people continue to see it and applaud it for what it is: a man with a first-class brain in the White House.
