The Republican party will take help wherever they can find it. If no existing (and/or self-respecting) media outlet will not report the spin they want, they simply create a media outlet that will. The only difference between Politico and the Washington Times is that the Times has an intermediary cult between it and the mother ship. Politico has a direct line. #politico

@El_Gato: He wasn't newsworthy and neither was she. I'm dating myself here (the story of my love life) but there was some similar event at JPM, I think, some woman who cc'd the entire salesforce of her whines at her BF. Back in the 90s.

They (the villians of this story) did not force their story on an ENTIRE college campus.

I'm tired of the easy targets making email fools of themselves. Did the woman involved ever agree to let the doofus publish her emails?

If not, that is over the line. They are private citizens and just because one of them was a fool, why should the woman be made public? #thewaywelivenow

@registered: I agree, the woman did not cc' the entire college campus. And it's a shame that they're in this situation. It sucks, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
But didn't she (and he) use their work e-mail accounts to have a series of sexually explicit exchanges? And -- mistakenly or not -- didn't he send the conversation to thousands of people? Were they all supposed to act like it never happened, even though the e-mails were hilarious?
Yes, they were private citizens. But she used company e-mail, and he shared it with the public. It's not like these emails were hacked from private accounts.
I could understand the argument that they shouldn't be written up in the NY Times or the Washington Post or even the Daily News. That would be too much. But gawker is a gossip blog that has always, always taken delight in such things and shared them with readers. It's a gossip site. Why shouldn't it publish gossip? #thewaywelivenow

This is so painfully banal--in part of course due to the short, neutral email text. But these people need to be fired and go live out their dull little fantasy.
