    What the New York Times wrote was not an additional theory as to why she committed suicide, as you would have it. Where do you get these outlandish interpretations? It was just a description of her life, lifestyle, and that's it. I think it was actually responsible reporting, because the epithet "newspaper heiress" definitely connotes a different image -- at least The Times gives the real picture as opposed to tabloids or other pseudo news sites.

    As much as the NYT sometimes bugs me with irrelevant cut-you-down-to-size detail, the bit about the house wasn't really a theory, just additional information about other possible stresses. The term "newspaper heiress," does conjure up a different image.

    I remember the Law & Order episode based on this.

    What can I say beyond the obvious? It's very sad.

    Like the neighbor, I wonder why she modeled her death on her stepfather's suicide.

    The weirdest part of this story is that her father "Champagne Tony" Morell, received the mother's liver after she died, which he needed because he lived up to his nickname.

    If the deceased earned their condition through villany or other misdeeds, the snark is warranted. This woman did no such thing, as far as I can tell.
