    I have never been able to get around the name of this place: "a radiant light around the head" has never made me feel the least bit peckish. Also makes me think of lady nips; ditto.

    They have to keep up appearances, impress their sources, and, you know, all the other reasons why it's more important to throw a big, expensive party than save that $100k and keep the positions of two editorial assistants.

    Notwithstanding what the Post says, Sheehan isn't really a crisis PR guy - he's more of a media/debate trainer. Also, he's usually only on board for a day or two and then goes away to another client. #christmasiscanceled

    @If_I_Had_a_Poodle: Well, I had a good reason: To cancel Kwanzaa would be to violate kujichagulia* (self-determination, in Swahili), which just seems like a really mean thing to do at Christmastime.

    I absolutely love that sculpture. But I wonder - how often did Si even look at it? Which home did he stash it in? Was he viewing it as the world burned over the last year, coming to it for solace as another person might in times of distress?

    How odd that by virtue of something's value - $20 million, a sum only a true plutocrat could spend on a single piece of art - it became less precious in terms of the daily appreciation it could have received from its owner. #sinewhouse
