It's so hard to love Vice, but then you see something like this, which (I believe) is fucking hilarious. Goldberg's a funny guy.

Also, Epicly Later'd is probably the best internet television I've ever seen. Jerry Hsu and Kevin Spanky are gods amongst men. #adamgoldberg

Could easy tell that he was on Franklin, Fountain, and Sunset various times. As an Angeleno, he should know that it's best to stick to Asian food in this town; Chinese-Japanese-Indian-Thai-Pho-etc. #adamgoldberg

@snugbug: I mean he should at least pickup the latest Zagat or read Jonathan Gold in the LA Weekly and maybe note that at least half of the places are Asian. You can't get this good sushi in New York much less the Atlantic; note Urasawa which is only omakase). I'm so over from my taco truck fatigue; second wind here. Kogi kicks ass! Los Feliz/Silverlake is faux Eastside. Eastside is truly east of the LA River: Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, San Gabriel Valley, and beyond until the Inland Empire. He should freaking try Thai Town which is in neighboring East Hollywood. Adam must hit up Intelligenia and LA Mill for coffee in Silverlake. The gelato at Bulgarini in Altadena is better than most places in New York and you'd probably have to go to Italy to top it. And frankly, I think most New Yorkers feel comfortable in LA that's north of Wilshire, south of Mulholland, east of Doheny, and west of Bundy. Brentwood Country Mart anyone? #adamgoldberg

    Commentariat in bullet-point form:

    1. I have always irrationally loved Adam Goldberg. His performance in Two Days in Paris is wonderous.

    2. He's specifically ranting in the video above about an Italian resto in Silver Lake called Speranza, and he's right on all points. There's also a popular hipster cafe on Hyperion Blvd. in Silver La-KEH called The Coffee Table, which I kindly advise you all avoid. I had the worst tuna salad of my young life there. It had 1,000 raisins mixed in with the tuna and no mayo or celery. I left it barely touched. Whoever chefs at The Coffee Table is an a-hole.

    3. On ze other paw, Goldberg should also STFU and have dinner at LA Mill across the street from Spaceland before he proclaims all Silver Lake eateries lame.

    4. If he's a half-Jew, I presume by his last name that it's the dad who's the Jewish Jew. Bummer then, because by Jewish standards Goldberg's only a faux Jew. [sad trombone]

    5. This is the perfect Gawker post, because I simultaneously love and loathe everything about it. Whoever wrote it deserves a Cuban ham croquette at Café Tropical in Silver Lake. And a raise in salary. #adamgoldberg

@snugbug: I have immediate respect for you cause the Coffee Table is awful and no one else shares our opinion.

As for complaining about sandwiches and no where to get pizza, he should try the El Greco Cafe on Vermont. Spinach/Mushroom pizza is excellent. Excellent greek food. They deliver. He has no excuse. Its also next to Skylight books. #adamgoldberg

I visited Silverlake (Silver Lake?) recently and it disappointed the fuck out of me. Maybe I was in the wrong part, but there were like 2 hipsters and some kind of bohemian old lady stores. Maybe I'm too used to Vancouver, where they frolic in the open. L.A. hipsters seem to be more reclusive.

@Varnsen: Homo L.A. Hipsterius has been outpriced outta Silver Lake, circa 2005, but the non-LA media may be a wee bit behind the curve. There still are a smattering public places where they congregate (the doggie park by the Silver Lake Reservoir is a goldmine, and so is Intelligentsia Café) but otherwise there's a way higher density of hipster douches and douchettes in Echo Park and Eagle Rock.

PS: The correct way to spell + pronounce it is "Silver La-KEH," with faux-French accent on last syllable of "lake."
