@nirreskeya: My personal favorite is this one: "Son, no one gives a shit about all the things your cell phone does. You didn't invent it, you just bought it. Anybody can do that."
I'm glad that as an unemployed writer with a handful of network credits under my belt, I can now throw out the stack of original, character-driven pilots and painstakingly crafted screenplays on which I've spent the last few years, and get to work on my pitch for a show about that text message I got one time from that guy. The Internet is a legit comedy writer's worst nightmare.
This will succeed. I can see it now, with Jerry Stiller starring as the dad. No, I literally meant I could see it now, in syndication, since this is basically George's dad in Seinfeld. #twitter
@MrInBetween: It'll be just like All in the Family. Except it will suck. After all, it automatically has to be Crap My Dad Says. It's all downhill from there. #twitter
@MrInBetween: I'm reticent to admit it, but you are probably right. The content of the Twitter feed would play truer on a cable channel. If they scrub the tweets down, it just won't be the same. Even Archie Bunker pushed the envelope saying "terlet" on network.
Also, Justin Halpern? Thanks for making me laugh my ass off repeatedly. Way to turn a negative into a good (moving home with the 'rents, that is). Congrats! #twitter
I happen to think that Daryll "Chill" Mitchell was great as the English teacher in 10 Things I Hate About You... not to say that the new show isn't going to suck, but perhaps for reasons other than the name "Chill".
beg to differ...find Parks and Recreations amusing and, sometimes, chuckle-worthy.
enjoyed Community very much - think the cast is strong and the writing sharp.
the office was fabulous as usual - thanks largely to dwight and creed.
watched modern family tonight and thought it had its moments - i love ed o'neill, so i am willing to give it about three weeks. there was something sweet about it at the end.
and screw you haters who think how i met your mother and two and a half men suck - they may not be mad men/30 rock caliber, but they are both funny and well written, with characters that you enjoy watching.
people, we are still in a recession, can't our entertainment be superficial?
@SandhyaCrazy: Nah... AD was just actually funny. The upside of nobody liking it was it didn't stay on the air long enough to get old. Therefore it is a lovely little three season time capsule of nearly perfect.
@SaturnV: Because the Nielsen ratings are a farce. It's why a show like Arrested Development can have dismal ratings, and According To Jim can stay on the air for years. I've stopped trying to figure out why shows like that are 'hits'and 'Transformers' makes a trillion dollars and Bush was in the White House for 8 years.
For what it's worth, every review I've read of Modern Family is glowing. Sadly, my DVR is already double-booked from 9-10, but I'll definitely check it out on ABC.com, and how long am I really gonna keep DVRing The Beautiful Life anyway?
@DahlELama: when the hell is my DVR gonna let me DVR more than two shows at a time! I'm missing House because of this, its too difficult to make that kind of choice!
@erinna: The trick is to prioritize by alternate access. ABC.com has the best website for watching, so ABC shows are lowest priority for DVR. House doesn't come online for 8 days after the episode airs so it's much higher. It all comes down to strategery, my friend.

"Community" was more amusing, and looks like it might have some promise. John Oliver stole the pilot, for sure.

And he was in "Galaxy Quest".
Don't harsh on the Chill, people.
