The only NYT Twitter feed I would read is one that would be impossible to maintain without the author losing his or her NYT job. Can you imagine how awesome it would have been to able to read Judith Miller's anonymous Twitter feed about all the sneaky ways she covered the run up tot eh war in Iraq?

@Curveballs_bitch: Today found way to use CIA-provided anonymous source to back up CIA-provided allegations about aluminum toobs! Who-hoo!

They might have gone with someone a bit younger and with a more modern image.

@riggssm: She does have the appearance of a lunchroom monitor (something about that grim smile). But, seriously, I think you are spot on: New Media doesn't seem to be the kind of thing that will obediently slow down while you ask questions about it.

@The Lone Scout: And now that I've re-read this post, here's what sticks out: "...it's about helping everybody figure out how to use social media as a tool for journalists." Figure out? Right. Have there been any interlopers who have been able to stop either New Media specifically or the Internetz in general from overwhelming traditional paradigms?

Scoff all you want, but Birmingham City University is still $5,700 ahead of Facebook and Twitter.

Ah Birmingham, that wonderful centre of British culture. So famous that Telly Savalas waxed lyrical over it in the 60s. no really -

Anyway, a degree in one year? Err, what the hell?

Sounds like the equivalent of an Associates degree (AA or AS). Or maybe the tech schools that advertise on subways.
