People who bought houses they couldn't afford, but they also sold houses for unimaginable sums. So let's say someone sold their house for a million and then bought a two million dollar house. They get relief.
Those of us who didn't sell a house that we could afford to buy a house we knew we couldn't afford get nothing.
Not to mention all the people who have already been foreclosed. Tough. There's foreclosure relief but just about everyone has noted that foreclosures have already pretty much peaked.
And our TSA (like a 401K) has lost its value and who cares? How do we get that back? But the banks have already gotten lots and they're going to get lots more.
Bank of America was so solvent that when Morgan Stanley, etc. fell apart, they BOUGHT some of those failed banks and now they are failing and WHO bails them out? Us again.
Tax cuts don't mean much to people who don't pay taxes because they don't have jobs. Throwing money at a failed auto industry and irresponsible financial professionals might feel good, but I have to sit back and see if it matters.

The good thing is, all the poll numbers show that no one is buying it.

Even so, I must reiterate it was a great speach and I hope his overtures of bipartisan ship are genuine and that his behavior of shutting republicans out of the legislative process vis-a-vis the passage of the stimulus was just a product of the maelstrom of the crisis. What really makes me lose hope, the hope that Our President brought up, despite my cynicism, is the tone of his supporters. While I watched bobby jindals response on the CNN facebook deal, before the man even spoke there was already a mountain of hate and personally directed vitriol flowing from Facebookers, while I know the facebookers are their own sub-species not to be fed or to be made eye contact with, they are americans and they vote. Young people seem to be unable to listen to the otherside of the argument and engage in serious debate with out calling someone names making fun of the way they look, talk, smell, or what have you. It seems like my generations best rebuttal to ideas proffered by someone of opposing political ideaology is that they are stupid (not the idea), or they are a racist nazi biggot wearing a tutu. I take this seriously becasue the fact of the matter is the discourse involving public policy is a serious matter when undertaken on the floor of congress, or in a booth at starbucks becasue it is how we will ultimately through our votes and our efforts interact with our neighbor. I just don't see the political discourse being raised to any sort of level where bipartisanship can really occur where it matters at the community level. One side is always shouted down. I believe the President does want to build unity and bipartisanship I don't belive his supporters do.

You line up, get in your three point stance O'Bannon gets behind the quarterback... blue 32 blue 32 hut hut hike!!! O' Bannon drops back and is sacked for 10 yards... Becasue the coach didn't call the play. That's what's gonna happen tommorow when the markets open.

1) People are afraid of the unknown.
2) Nobody really cares about anybody else.
3) I think your football metaphor is a little off.

Thanks for Proving my point.
@britneyspearstears: I'm not viewing everything though a social networking website I did say that I'm not painting with a broad brush. But I said that even though I though Obama gave great speech and honestly was inspired by it I was instantly brought back down by the comments posted during the Rep. Response.
I do think people care about others it's just a lot harder to do that these days.
You're right I got all stream of consciousness like after the first sentence, but I was right on, after closing up 200 points in anticipation of the State of the Nation, the market opened over 100 points down, and ended down.

Also, we get it: Wall Street doesn't like Obama. Big surprise. What's your point?

Coulter for their off color remarks and outrageous behavior but Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter are not Policy wonks any more the Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins are. They are entertainers, first and foremost they have a Product and they sell it. They are loud voices in conservative circles but the say that I have to agree with Rush Limbaugh all the time is like saying you agree with The Daily Kos all the time, which you might but I don't assume that you do nor do I call you a liar if you state your own position.
Own My Philosphy? What philosophy is that? if you mean my Ideology, I do own my ideology, because it's obviously mine, but thanks for telling me what I think. I think it's funny that every time someone needs an example of conservative thought they pull out Limbaugh or Coulter boogeymen. Can you even name other conservative thinkers?
Wall Street loved Obama enough to give him all that Campaign money though, that's why this is of interest to me. The fact of the matter is, in the last Month with the talk of the bailout market is down. I don't know if you have investments but losing 5% in a week SUCKS. My Point is all the things the Bush administration got shit for(and rightly so) Obama is doing The exact same things only on an order of 5. Market hated the bail out we went to 7g by the end of that week. Auto bailout Market dropped again. So they come up with the brilliant Idea of borrowing 1.3 Trillion dollars for stimulus and they expect that to stabilize markets and spur lending? It's fucking insane. The whole Repubs should shut up and get in line crap is fucking retarded, why? Why the hell should I agree with or anyone agree with this shit economic plan of his for the sake of agreeing so we can prolong this fuckmess of a crisis? If you honestly believe that this stimulus bill will actually work, or if you even know one detail of the administrations plan to stop the free fall please tell me what it is and How you think it will work. Otherwise pipe down.

Obama = Kanye
GOP = 50 Cent
So does that make Bill and Hillary, Jay-Z and Beyonce?
