Has anyone of you actually tried to find out what Scientology really teaches? I mean they don't beat you or torture you. The self-purification thing could be considered a little extreme, but you run on a treadmill for 45 min while drinking water and taking vitamins bought at GNC. And you do that every other day for like two weeks.
Auditing is not brainwashing, people go to hypnotists all the time, for many reasons. I would trust an Auditor more than a hypnotist. Mainly because you remember your Auditing Session everything that was said. The exact reasons would take a while to explain.
Search for Human Rights Video at www.youtube.com
and you can see all the Universal Human Rights. (It is I believe the same Universal Human Rights that First Lady Eisenhower wrote about upon the inception of the UN but I am unsure.)
I mean I am not a Scientologist, but I did go directly to the source to learn about what it really is. Between the reports about Tom Cruise, and the SP Times articles I really wanted to know. They did not hide anything I read the book on Dianetics. I asked about the different controversies. I was shown physical proof, when these things were explained to me.
Nothing that I was shown, seemed any different than other mainstream religions. They just believe in a drug and alcohol free life, and being healthy. No mystery diets, they just push balanced meals, and exercise. But so does the US government.
I came to the conclusion, and many think the same, that Tom Cruise is a Fundamentalist Nut Job who is a little too controling. And members of the Church really agreed with me. #scientology
@Earl Bedford: I am not sure how to tell you this but you are a Scientologist. You can ask the same members of the church who really agreed with you. Bravo on the Cruise- herring though, it was inspired. #scientology
@adiam7: Hey! why are majority of your last comments made against Scientology? Looked at your profile and it seems you have called a whole lot of people Scientologist just because they were not against it. Are you the type of person who believes in "If you you’re not with the way I think then you are against me"?
People have their own opinion about a lot of things but man, it seems like you are searching for Scientology topics to comment on. Are you person who goes around looking for those types of posts?
Let Earl or whatever his or her name to make their opinion without you attacking them. #scientology
@Earl Bedford: If you read Dianetics and you didn't think it was a diarrhetic outpouring of disjointed lunacy, then I'm afraid you're too stupid to count as an unbiased judge of religions.
I'm assuming that, given your favorable disposition toward the cult, you're not inclined to accept as genuine the high-level materials available on the internet. Okay, so go read History of Man and then tell me these people aren't cracked. Hubbard believed that humans evolved from clams. Also Piltdown Man, which, incidentally, was proven a fraud #scientology
@laurenhasmoney: You have looked at my profile. You have investigated my views and qualified them. You are calling me what in this little rant? I know, I am an SP aren't I? Do you plan on having my star taken away because I will fight back. I am sure Scientology is a cult. I am sure that people have died as a result. I am sure it is a criminal enterprise. I know it's going down. How coy of you : Let Earl or whatever his or her name is make their opinion without you attacking them.
It encourage you to write that part in all caps next time #scientology
@laurenhasmoney: Oh honey, I just looked at your name. I bet you do have money .Tom is a control freak and a nut job, please look at the videos categorized as such available on the internet. Just type in Tom Cruise is a nutjob and choose videos. I can;t recommend you for the investigative reporting job though because you cant keep your cover for long. BTW, I have tow passports so I can run away from your ass if you try to come and find me. #scientology
@adiam7: Are you okay? Seems like you may need a one a day pill. So why do you focus so much on painting a negative picture around Scientology? Obviously you are using someone else picture as your avatar.... Why go to so much length to attack a religion? Is it really that necessary or are you just board besides hackle Scientology? #scientology
@oneAday: I like the coordination, awesome. A bit confusing, please help. What is a one-day pill? Is it something I have to ask a psychiatrist for or can I buy it from the Scientology catalog? I have honestly never heard of such a thing. I hope you are not suggesting that I need one of you or a bit of you because that just seems creepy. This is not a board.I am an avid gawker reader and when gawker presents hilarious stories about cults I do comment. Unless you meant am I board in which case the answer is no, this is amusing. I can only imagine what you would do if you had my e-meter reading! The things you could do with that information. What lengths am I going to exactly ? I read, I comment, I do click on the links some people leave and then I comment some more. I do all this from my computer. I am not actually flying to Clearwater or meeting sources on the street. It is really no trouble at all, it is like you commenting about my comments, effortless.I don't understand the avatar reference but you are right it is not me. I am not attacking a religion this is about Scientology. #scientology
I clicked on that damn Freedom link and now I am fucked for the day. This little nugget is priceless:
In the most offensive gesture of all, the S.P. Times refused to accept an offer of an in-person interview with Mr. David Miscavige, the ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion.
I know they wanted to write that part in all caps I just know it.
I clicked on the human rights button and no one else should. Ever.

If you all were a bit more worldly you would know that the Tampa Bay area is a hotbed of human rights issues. I believe that the UNHRC is also moving their headquarters there. I have heard that Angelina Jolie is going to visit the displaced persons camp there. It is the epicenter and Scientology is all over them. #scientology
@adiam7: I've got you both beat. The only reason we haven't set fire to Ford Field is because everybody in Detroit is too poor to afford gasoline. Or matches. #scientology
@CumaeanSibyl: Ok you win besides I have xenu's click on my ass and I need to get off the computer. We will meet again in the land of losing teams and I will not give up so easily next time #scientology
See "Operation China Shop" to find out what happened to the Clearwater Sun (it's almost impossible to believe these things are real). [en.wikipedia.org]
They've already attempted to do a hit piece against the St. Pete paper and the reporter/editor who the did the investigative piece on the cult. You can read it in the new "Freedom" mag online and it truly makes your skin crawl. I haven't read such obvious skewed propaganda since Goebbels' "Der Angriff." Only Dr. Goebbel's was far more subtle.
For some reason (and tell me if this sounds crazy) I think we should either shoot all the Scientologists into the Sun, or in the back of the head. They're both fairly harsh, but I've got a prejudice against them that makes it feel justified.
Also, it makes me immensely happy to learn that "Scientologists" isn't recognized as a word by my computer. Thank you either Microsoft or Firefox.
Oh, those wacky Scienos! Even a total outsider like me (Presbyterian all the way, baby!) can catch their little "inside" joke on that scary cover - "S.P." being not only "St. Petersburg" but also, of course, the worst thing in the world to be for the Cruise-ites - a "Suppressive Person."
A phrase that always makes me think of my mother. But that's another story... #scientology
Nothing gets people to enslave themselves better then the promise of an afterlife filled with mystical wonders (72 virgins/heaven). The only requirement is that they spend their entire earthly life serving you and your needs, and they'll get their prize after they die. Brilliant for centuries. #scientology
I live in a country where most folks can't find Mexico on a map, or accurately ballpark the population of the country. That's bad enough, and depressing.
I live 20 miles or so from where Joseph Smith, the 1800's equivalent of L. Ron Hubbard, was born. He invented his own fairy tale and profited (propheted?) nicely. I suspect that when LRH dreamed up COS, he used Mormonism as a model.
It absolutely amazes me, a citizen of the 21st century, that I live in a world where protection is given to adult fantasy and tax preference is handed out without question to such obvious frauds.
Thetans? Xenu? Volcanic atomic bombs? On second thought, it makes about as much sense as virgin birth, resurrection, miracles, communion, speaking in tongues. #scientology
I'm holding out hope that John Travolta will eventually walk away from these nuts. That event would blow them out of the water and I don't mind signing my real name to this comment...so bring on your investigations and intimidation tactics!

@Island of Misfit Toys: If it didn't happen after the death of his son, I don't think its happening. Maybe on his death bed or his autobiography at age 80, where he will finally come out, but not until then.
There's no point. Hes in it for too long to just walk away and if he defects, he'll have to come out and unleash so much of his personal baggage, it wont be worth it. #scientology
Why hasn't law enforcement acted? I can think of a couple of reasons. One is because it sounds so far-fetched. Truly. And a second is that former Scientologists are so terrified (including of losing their eternity) that they don't go to law enforcement for help.
For example, see this Sheriff's Office report about Marc Headley's escape from the desert base of the CoS in 2004: [www.scribd.com]
Even though he was followed and assaulted by the security team trying to "recover" him, Headley didn't tell on them. Marc only discovered the existence of this report recently when researching for his book, "Blown For Good".
all one must do is take a gander at a one Lisa McPherson -- the Scientology member who was found near Clearwater Florida in an empty row boat dead from hundreds of roach bites.. she was a dissenter of Co$ and was in a myriad of heated "talks" of them trying to rein her back in before this happened...

2. Work for Scientology where they actually beat up their employees.
That said, this sounds like the perfect job for Alessandra Stanley.
