In reply to Jeremy Piven Attacks Chris Kattan for Making a Mercury Poisoning Joke
i'm kind of doubting that kattan is capable of making anything that resembles a joke, unless one is referring to his "career".

Dear Cajun, please forgive me for this little correction, but far too many people get it wrong:
"Kyra Sedgwick says that being ripped off by Bernie Madoff has forced HER and Kevin Bacon to embrace the 'simpler things' in life."

@T.S._delegate: Picky, picky, picky. Just praise the Lord Gawker is not in German, the accusative case is a proper NIGHTMARE in that language, even for native speakers.

Piven attacked Kattan over a sushi joke? Hope he never reads Gawker (particularly the archives during the whole Speed the Plow imbroglio. He should've attacked Kattan for being painfully unfunny.

@Hydroceph: Piven shouldda filed a police report against Kattan for aggravated lameness in the first degree. < The ever-classier option of keeping his mouth shut. The InterNerd taught me that nothing angers your enemies more efficiently, to the point where they might self-combust from frustration, than ignoring them.

Based on singing talent I wasn't sure they could get much worse than Paula Abdul, but...and I'm not admitting to actually purchasing their music or enjoying the Spice Girls by any extreme of the imagination, despite the fact that their first song, that "zinga-zinga-zow" impale-your-ears-with-a-blow-gun song bored it's way into your head with supernatural force, never did I see Posh utter a single song note, soooo, I'm not getting why or how she's a fit judge.
If the show were about putting together a group of girls with sub-par talent and stupid, kitschy monikers based on supposed personality and marketed purely on the guile of global simpletonism, than yah, that I get.

Jeremy Piven showed up on Big Brother (shut up, yes I watched it) last night. He came in the house for a few minutes to show a preview of that horrible new movie he has coming out about selling cars.

@MissPeacock: (sheepishly admitting to watching it too)... Did you notice how many times he touched his nose in his :45 plug (ahem)? I lost count at four. Need a little "pick me up" before stepping into the house, Piven?

@anyonecanwhistle: "Too nice" for American Idol is pretty shocking, given that I don't think I've ever seen that aging lollipop crack a smile, not once.
Maybe it should have read "too obviously-fake nice"?
But then again, if she has no critical faculties outside of the wardrobe department, and that may well be the case, she's utterly useless to Idol. She would attract novelty viewers, but create no substantial following.
Now if only she'd take that useless lump of a husband of hers back to England so he can rest on his laurels in front of adoring fans. He sure raised the profile of pro soccer in America, didn't he?

Sedgwick takes home $275,000 per episode of "The Closer". It sucks she got ripped off by Bernie Madoff, but I find it hard to feel sympathetic for her having to embrace the "simpler things". Elie Wiesel on the other hand...

Plus, isn't Sedgwick's voice just fucking annoying?

@anonymousryan: Is Sedgewick asking for sympathy? It doesn't sound like it. Anyway, she and Kevin Bacon have a teenage son who went to the camp I worked at. The parents would take him to camp and wait through all the check-in lines including lice check, like any other parent. Lots of the rich kids were dropped off by chauffeurs. Bacon and Sedgewick seemed like perfectly nice people to me.

@GinaRomantica: They may be perfectly nice people, but it's a bit disingenuous to claim that you're relegated to the "simple things" when you're making well over a million dollars a year.
In all likelihood she was just being humble in a quote she gave to a stupid online column, but I got turn up the snark if I'm ever gonna get that star!
