@Tully Blanchard Enterprises: But wait -- I am curious, genuinely so. What would skepticism consist of, here? What kind of critical lens should we use to view this information? She refused to give interviews. Palin herself had plenty of opportunities to refute this view of her and she refused to do so. We're going on what we know, here, which is also exactly what she wanted us to know.
I remember the commenter who got really psyched when McCain picked Palin because his pretend-Democrat neighbor liked her. He thought if pretty much sewed up the election. Little did he know she'd bring down the whole fucking party.
@Perhaps Not: Hey! He put a lot of work into those overwrought metaphors! You can make up for under-researching something by over-writing it, everyone knows that.
Sweet Jesus. Is she scary because of the utter, implicit stupidity, and insanity she lugs around in that water-filled bulb she calls a brain?
No.
She's scary because this country loves an underdog. A misguided soul, a cretin who believes they have a good heart underneath. Yah. She's scary because no matter what astronomically demonic her actions, someone will feel sorry for the blatant disability of her being born and vote for her. We have eight years of history to prove it.
This new information about Palin should be comforting, but really it is not. I'm not sure what will completely torpedo her chances, but I'm thinking short of murder or prostitution, there's really not much else, and even those two could be explained away for some people if both were to involve saving a child or stimulus money in their paychecks. See how this works?
@Claire Buoyant: For serious, someone needs to start a LOLBeautyQueen website using Miss North Carolina, Palin and CreamJeans as the inspiration for the dictionary of "speak."
@Tart of Darkness: She won't win if she continues to behave like this. She'll continue to create her side drama enough to create these kinds of distractions. She won't even be able to assemble a real campaign staff with this kind of behavior. And at the national level, everyone always has a passionate following by some group somewhere.
Also, I think Obama has upped the bar on candidate competence.
The Vanity Fair piece was wonderful. This woman represents all that's wrong with our country, as she feels facts are inconvenient, truth is subjective, and as always, we have been at war with Eurasia.

C'mon. Stand-up comics are deserving people too. And do you know Jon Stewart has two kids? Two! Raised in Manhattan!

Either allyzay was being sarcastic, or we've been cross-posted to that other site.
