    I don't know that Hasselbeck is slipping to the other side. Beck has a way of making conservatives feel like liberals. If I was around him, I would be saying, "Oh, I guess I'm not a conservative." Not only that, but since Beck's amusing little anecdote turned out to be a lie, I think I would have let him flounder there on his own as well.

    @htotheomo: Nope. I won't defend him. He isn't a politician, he is an entertainer. He is no different than other media types who shoot from their hip and say dumb things just to get some hits/viewers.


    There is no such thing as news anymore. All we have are op/eds and circus acts. (Sob) Much like Jerry Springer, he is entertaining, but he leaves that throw up taste in your mouth after a night of red wine, tapas and port. But mostly port.

    @momof3wildkids: Beck is an idiot, and the media outlets can be moronic, but is it any worse than when Henry Luce or Randolph Hearst were kicking around?

    But, to say "there is no such thing as news anymore," is a sound bite. There are a lot of reporters driving around in 12 year old Saturn's or taking the subway to get to a City Council meeting to report the news, and to say that some tv dipshits represent all facets of the medium is bullshit.

I find it more disturbing that there is no such thing as a good conservative entertainer than that Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld tried to establish a permanent rule of an evil empire. In fact, I think that a total lack of sense of humor is a pretty good definition of evil.


    Can you name a good conservative entertainer? Can you even find a good conservative joke?
