There's been some "ZOMG!!! DOUBLESTANDARD, if Letterman had said ______ (insert vom-inducing child abuse detail) about the Obama kids, then..." arguing going on online.

If any of that shows up here once again, could you quickly disemvowel please? It doesn't really generate any so-called meaningful dialog and mostly just comes off as a excuse from some wingnuts to vent a bunch of creepy shit.

It's almost unfathomable how much of a terrible, awful person she is. Really. Just heinous. It's like all parts of you that are good, decent, and cognizant, refuse to believe someone so noxious exists...until there she is, with her barely formed cerebrum. Spouting lunacy and calling to arms all the other hidden fools in this land. It would be diabolical if it weren't just sheer happenstance that allows her to still be relevant, because believe me the thought process she puts forth is the equivalent of one of those dud potatoes connected to the copper wire that never lit the light bulb in that junior high experiment. But for some reason she keeps getting an A for effort. WHY AMERICA? WHY? Is it pity? Is it some gender norm politically-correct jungle of nonsense we're afraid of treading? What is it, because damn, I'd rather tell the truth and perhaps be a little chauvinist in saying that the lady is dumb as a box of rocks and really has no place as the potential leader of a Burger King much less a state, or Heaven and Zeus forbid, the country. Sheesh. Can we petition the ending of Sarah Palin? Like now. Please. Forever.

So the dopes who run Embassy Suites were totally taken in by the Palin "outrage"? Well I know where I won't stay anymore. Who knows what sort of idiots are running the place.

I find a lot of things that Palin does to be outrageous...including the exploitation of her children at the Republican Convention. She owes a loyalty to her children and Letterman does not. And there she was parading pregnant teenage daughter on the stage while talking "pro family" and all that other crap. Family values mean you don't be dragging your pregnant teenage daughter all around the country beaming like you've just had a fucking lobotomy. So she can suck it.

And I find her killing of animals and supporting things like aerial wolf killing to be beyond contempt.

And as for drill baby drill, someone should drill a hole in her head and pour in some brains.

I have nothing but contempt for her and her phony ass morals and values.

So the lesson here for all non-Fox media is to never, ever mention Sarah Palin. Do not put her into jokes. Do not discuss her antics, her wardrobe, her grooming. Do not cast aspersions on her command of English, geography, politics, math, or history. Do not compare her to anyone. Do not report on her attendance or absence at events. Because every time someone who's not on Fox utters anything--anything at all--about Sarah Palin, she can spin it into three effing weeks of ridiculous, time-wasting, ozone-making media coverage. It is her only skill (other than fancy pageant walking) and she is lethally good at it.

Watching her mangle the English language on TV has never been pleasant, but there was a satisfying bit of snobby glee to be had in the exercise. Now she just makes me angry. Like, wanting to reach through the television to throttle her angry.

Turning on a beloved media elitist like Letterman is beyond the pale. Insinuating that he is somehow a decadent, creepy old pervert is tantamount to declaring war on the lower 48, as far as I'm concerned.

@belltolls: There was this hobo acquaintence who was also acquainted with Embassy, among others. He's hop off his freight and walk to the office and say he needed a room way out in back to sleep, and could he see it? They'd give him the key, the fools, and he'd run back there, undress like Clark Kent, shower, be dressed and catch the 10:15 before they ever wondered how he liked the room.

They make good judgments at Embassy, giving the key to the city to hoboes.

It seems sort of reductive to limit her to being "sarah palin's daughter".
