What we need is for Obama to take over everything. He's the next thing to Jesus. He's the only man in government to be trusted. Let's just simplify everything and make him dictator already. I suspect that 60% of the people would vote for it.

@hatchetman: I think you are mistaking this president with the previous one. I mean, shit, Cheney's balls were so big he told Ameirca to go fuck itself when we simply wanted to know the contents of his Energy Task Force. I'm sure you were OUTRAGED! at Cheney when he did that! I'm sure you were livid when the Bush administration made one of the largest classifications of documents in US history. You see: that's the problem with the right-wingers; they're not against authoritarian leadership as long as it's THEIR authoritarian leadership. Every liberal I've spoken to is actually pissed off at Obama for some of his national security maneuvers. You know why? Because liberals aren't sheep. (Or elephants just following the tail in front of them.) They're stubborn, critical of even their own leaders and can't be herded single file into an abattoir.

You mean the outdated system IMPLEMENTED IN 2000 WHEN PHIL GRAMM WIPED HIS WRINKLY OLD ASS ON FDR-ERA CONTROLS aimed at preventing the dangerous consolidation of the financial services sector? The ones Bill Clinton signed into law?

They were calling those reforms a way of modernizing outdated modes, too. At this point whenever a politician says something needs to be reformed to modernize an "outdated" thing, I immediately look for the people giving money to that politician to find the true motive behind the call for an upgrade to a system.

There is a saying that goes like this: If it ain't broke don't fix it.

oh, it's going to be a banner day at fox news for sure.
we are certainly entering an era of "communism/socialism" by having a government who finally tries to protect the lower and middle classes from getting FUCKED IN THE ASS (say it like you're in the big lebowski).
but all i ask is that the republican party offer up a counter tactic/solution rather than just attack. will they? NO. can they? NO.

Other than being philosophically opposed to the government controlling the likes of Goldman Sachs, who was taken down with the others despite the fact that they only reported losses for one quarter and were coerced to take the TARP money, I am annoyed by the creation of a new office about once a week in this Administration.

We now have an Energy Czar, a Car Czar, a Pay Czar and now a Consumer Financial Protection Agency, which will probably have a Czar like figure running it. This has all come about in the past four months. I understand that every header in front of Czar represents a real problem in this country, but don't some of these issues fall under the purview of existing agencies?

Anyway. No, who knows. The problem needs specific people to work on it; if money can be allocated specifically to said agency and the programs therein, this should be more expedient than dividing it within a bigger agency.
