    I'm rooting for Floria Sigismondi's Runaways--she's a majorly talented lady and it'd be nice to see her get some recognition outside of the music video artistic ghetto. All the same, rock biopics have a spotty track record as a genre. We shall see if she can break the curse.

    Alternately, I'm rooting for Gaspar Noé to flat-belly. I have not yet recovered from this douchebag's Irréversible. Ugh!

    @daveyjonesisdead: "It's just like Thirteen but with more costume changes!" (This is riffing on Joel Shoemaker's past as a costume designer.. Apparently, he cavorted with Halston during the best days of Studio 54. I don't understand why someone with such a cool pedigree can be so lame.)

    @Charlotte Rae's Web: For someone who watches almost the entire CW lineup (everything but Chuck and Smallville) and counts Bring It On and Mean Girls among her favorite movies, I am shockingly terrible with children. That said, if your kid will watch Degrassi with me, he/she is welcome any time.

    @DahlELama: We'll bring the snacks and the high drama. I was hoping for Daria but it's looking more like Quinn Fabray every day. She's 12 so the jury is still deliberating tho.

    Mean Girls was great - over turkey day I had my family watch another good one along those lines, Drop Dead Gorgeous.

    @Charlotte Rae's Web: Love Drop Dead Gorgeous! I'm from a small town, one of those places where there is a pageant where they name the "[Insert the crop produce or vegetable the town is known for] Queen." And yes, I was that [corn product I shall not name] Queen in high school. The whole experience was frighteningly like that movie, sans the death and near-death experiences.
