    "But is it relevant to our online lives today? In an age of oversharing, when we update Facebook with every emotion and Twitter every Web page we come across, when we blog, blog, blog it all, is Google really the biggest threat - or is it us?" We have traced the calls and they are coming from inside your damn house. Updating your privacy settings won't help you when you insist on living your life like an open blog. But I'm guilty just like you!

    You just revealed more than you probably wanted to in that post.

    I wish i had a friend named Shuman Ghosemajumder. That's a great name. Schubert Ghosemajumder would work too.

    @Uncle_Billy_Slumming:

    Here's some fun reading on the topic of privacy:

    [www.alternet.org]'s_spying_efforts_on_the_united.../

    And we shouldn't forget the reason Homeland Security Cyberdude just quit:

    "Rod Beckström's resignation as director of the Homeland Security Department's National Cybersecurity Center (NCSC). In his resignation letter, Beckström said the National Security Agency effectively controls DHS' cyber initiatives and dominates most national efforts"

    I find it rather transparent system. I wish all the sites I visit would tell me what they think about me. At least I can opt out.

    Google is not even near collapse, the problem with this is that now they're net-bound only, there's no other media universe outside to conquer, which means that now on their ad business will only grow as much as the net does.

    Plus there's the short term fact that tv ads still surpass online ads worldwide, so Google is not only losing a future market, but a big source of revenue that would come in handy right now.

    I don't understand how companies like these have layoffs. Why not sell some of their expensive stock? Like, duh?

    @Maulleigh: Or get rid of some perks like free breakfast and dinner. Cut 40 employees who were probably passionate in helping Google win in the radio ad space or make people actually pay for breakfast and dinner? Hmmm... tough choice.

    Is that analogy right, Owen? If I remember AP Euro History, the march to Moscow and its occupation cost Napoleon 3/4 of his men, and most of the remaining quarter died on the way back.

    No, I don't have better things to do with my time. Why?

    Here's another question: Will John K. Lattimer be purchasing their penises (penis-eye?) for thousands of dollars, eventually?

    @CheapCynicism: Right, he crossed the Elbe on his visit to Moscow with 450,000 troops, the way I heard it. I ain't wikiing here. By the time he left his army at the Elbe on his quick return, they numbered 10,000. Two river crossings, the sublime to the ridiculous.

    Hey, this analogy means radio is burning!
