    OMFG!!!


    There is a story bouncing around the internet that one of the people Obama met on his trip to Mexico on April 16th has died of the swine flu (no word on whether he had it when he met Obama)


    Anyone heard anything more specific on this?


    Seems strange they haven't closed the borders. This is beginning to sound like the first chapter of the Stephen King novel "The Stand" (I loved the t.v. version...Molly Ringwald and Rob Lowe as one of a handful of survivors.)

    @Kittens are Furever: I heard something about that. They said yes, an archaeologist who met with Obama did die later, but not of swine flu.

    This swine flu pandemic in Queens really scared me, so I called up my good friend Martha Stewart for comfort and advice. This is exactly what she told me to do: "I don't know about all this swine flu, Nesbiteme, but if you want to cheer yourself up, I suggest you mount your leftover yellow marshmallow Easter Peeps on soda straws and place them in a flower vase filled with clear clean fresh water (soda straw ends in the water of course). You'll find that your Peeps will look just like a beautiful arrangement of daffodils, and this will cheer you up. I have to go now … bye bye." So I tried this, and - damned if you know - it worked!

    But, really, I think you're supposed to wash your hands a lot and do not be kissing anybody, because you could get Mono too. And do not hang out with the pot heads. They will ruin your life. I know this for a fact.

    Those of you with paid sick leave are in for a little vaca. Seriously. Starting in about 2 weeks, you can call in sick with this excuse in any state where the virus has been found and nobody will want you anywhere near the office for a week or two.The downside is if you really do catch it later, you're screwed.
