    What's with all the Oprah hatred? Jeez, the woman is a self-made, African-American female, billionaire. Her show can be schlocky and cheesy and she may be self-righteous but I give her props for her success.

    @heywhat: It's Katie Couric Syndrome. What made her so famous and successful was her likeability and being someone people could relate to. However, as she became more popular and increasingly wealthy, she became less relatable. S

    eriously, Oprah had an episode on not long ago when she talked about how having freshly washed sheets on your bed every day was a nice way to make your home better. Which it is, if you have a team of maids. She seems to lack the awareness that most people would find that suggestion ridiculous.

    @doctorzizmor: I agree that her show became a fantasy show but she was just following pop cultural trends. Look at all the t.v. sitcoms and dramas, none of them are relatable. Besides from "Everybody Hates Chris", I can't think of a single show about middle and working class families. As a society, we became obsessed with the wealthy and aspired to be like them. Her showing off and encouraging people to live way above their means was just giving people what they wanted.
