The sexism is lamentable but understandable, given the dominance of males in engineering (although I thought females were better represented in software). The xenophobia is harder to get, though. Isn't the high-tech industry full of foreign-born engineers? Shouldn't these people be used to dealing with others who have accents different from their own?

When Gawker's standard for female tech entrepreneurial empowerment is Julia Allison, why would you expect anything else?

I won't waste my time with the stupid video.

These two (among many) seem to amazingly come up with some attention-getting emotional stunts just at about the time they need to draw attention to some money-making activity.

I find their revelations about technology often not so revelatory.

I'd rather get my information from technologists who have subsequently learned journalism than from journalists (and other non-tech backgrounds) who struggle to understand technology having never "done it".

Sounds like it could be another feud of Biggie-Tupac proportions, but with pasty white doofuses.

How was it this year? I saw a little of the ustream live feed - the comments were particularly harsh and the companies were mostly lead-gen or, just, not thought out - Sprowtt?! really?

Also a lot of half-price/free ticket type offers leading up to the event. Tough environment.
