From the mailbag: "I finally feel like a real New Yorker, having stumbled upon the Sex and the City movie shooting. Granted, it was in Bryant Park, just like a previous tipster said. SJP's hair is all sorts of dark, and she was wearing a terrifying tutu thing. Big surprise. Best part, though, was Major [sic] Bloomberg apparently filming a cameo in the background. Cynthia Nixon was wearing terrifyingly high heels... Making a movie looks hella boring. But! The set was flooded with cute guys—PAs and whatever else people do on a set. They and Major [sic] Bloomberg were the high points of my experience." Martial law has taken effect in some people's minds, I guess. Blame "Sex and the City."

From our army of Sex and the City filmspotters, we learn there's shooting in the West Village today: "They're back! Perry Street is shutting down and being staged for Spring. They're bringing in tree branches, flowers, etc. Short commute for Sarah Jessica Parker today." And: "I was trying to make an appointment on Friday morning in Greenpoint and I got lost and had no idea where I was, until I saw a familiar face: Kristin Davis. She was on a patio, shooting a lunch scene for SATC:The Movie. I didn't see any other actors around though—maybe that's the big twist in the movie: Charlotte dining alone in Brooklyn! GASP! Funny thing was a woman who was driving by asked one of the crew guys what they were shooting and he shot back unconvincingly 'A commercial.' And then shooed her away."

From the mailbag: "I was walking down to Canal around 10:20 last night and I spotted the blaring lights and huddled crowds of a movie shoot. As I carefully approached I wondered, 'Could this be?' Was I chosen to be blessed with the heavily made up, oddly clothed visage of Sex and the City: The Movie? I mean, I keep reading about all the reports of on location shoots but that sort of thing only happens to other people, right? And then I caught a glimpse of Kim Cattrall and a high ponytail that could only be worn by Kristin Davis. All four of them were present, as well as a plainclothes Willie Garson. And when they wrapped up a few minutes later, they were all guided to their trailers by large black men. Cattrall came out first, very quickly, about five minutes ahead of the other three, who exited only after the lights were shut down as if they were being whisked away under the cover of darkness."

From the mailbag: "I just passed them filming the SATC movie on the corner of 57th and 5th (in front of Tiffany's of course). They were doing a shot where 4 women who all look like younger versions of the lead characters are walking down the street, my first thought was that they were doing a flashback to the time when all of them met, then I thought that maybe they were shooting the end and these were their daughters who all became BFFs in the future (gag), and now I realized that they were probably just doubles for the women, being used for test shots. Either way, I had to cross an extra two streets to avoid the set, which was annoying."
