Also, if anyone went to Clearview Chelsea for the midnight HP showing, PLEASE TELL ME YOU HEARD THE GUY AT THE CLIMAX OF THE MOVIE HOP UP AND GO "THIS MOVIE IS WACK! I'M GOING TO WATCH ICE AGE!!" That moment made my whole week.
@naugahydeinplainsight: To be fair, Medium and Sarah Connor Chronicles are practically indistinguishable. I mean, every time I see Patricia Arquette, I sure as hell think "Scary robots from the future!"
@kimsama: HA! That's how to save Sarah Connor Chronicles -- combine the two shows. Allison (suddenly fit [and less whiney] as Lena Headey takes over the role) starts seeing visions of Judgment Day, beginning with an episode in which Joe's solar thingamajig becomes self-aware and starts building Skynet.
While visiting a friend at Whole Foods in Austin (the "old" Whole Foods) I saw Sandra Bullock with a then virtually unknown skinny dude by the name of Ryan Gosling. Jeeezus. There should never be that much "IT FACTOR" in one place outside of Ho'wood ever again. I was certain the ceiling was going to cave in. She was so incredibly luminescent and was all smiles, and not in that fake way that a lot of celebrities are when they are "in the public." Truly, both of them mmediately won my undying respect for their them and their work in the classy way that they traversed through the condiments and baked goods tailed by a idiot-grinning bunch of autograph seekers.
I will publicly admit to seeing The Proposal on opening weekend as a part of a girl's night out. A few observations:
WTF did Sandy Bullock do to her face? It looks like she had her eyes done. When she was on Letterman a few weeks ago I just thought it was too much make up, but something is definitely amiss. She seems very cool and wish she would have just left well enough alone.
Mary Steenburgen - OK, she's very pretty and makes such a nice mom. Can someone please remind her that's she's an Academy Award winner? Challenge yourself. Do some actual acting. Geez.
@gladys_kravitz: I suspect Mary Steenbergen would be taking more challenging parts if they were offered to her. I mean, if former box-office goldies like Jessica Lange and Sig. Weaver and Sissy Spacek and Glenn Close and Holly Hunter (and such) are complaining about the paucity of good roles for serious actresses north of 23, then I imagine Steenbergen (never a household name) has her work cut out for her ...
@BowlingForDollars: This is the payoff for hanging on to an unfashionably strong nose, for having sharp bone structure and "character" in your face--you age beautifully. And she really is getting more gorgeous each year.
@BowlingForDollars: I saw Bradley Cooper - along with Paul Rudd when Julia Roberts starred in "Three Days of Rain" on Broadway. Then I saw him up close and personal. He's nice (which is hawt) and he's really good looking in person.
Regarding Cera: He may be minnowy, but he ain't nobody - at least, not in box office terms. He's already starred in two huge hit comedies: Superbad and Juno.
But those were small-scale pics, and Cera's persona probably doesn't translate well to this kind of big-scale film treatment.

So Ramis had that precedent to guide him, and he went ahead an wrote this film anyway.
