There's more underage sex, nudity, drug use and violence in any two minutes of the British TV drama "Skins" (aired here only in a censored version) than in all the American Apparel ads put together. So, perverts, heal thyselves, or something like that.
The guy's got to be an excellent dancer, or he wouldn't be on tour with Madonna; he has the moves down pat, technically speaking, but compared to MJ he looks like a flailing amateur. Jackson had a completely different way of moving, far more controlled and yet full of ease.
I think Janet might have come close in her prime, but only close. No one else compares.
"Haig-Thomas has noted that he "doesn't necessarily share (Irving's) views," but he sure as hell doesn't condemn them." Foster, this is just a British thing. It's a way of saying no, without being so brash as to say it directly.
@Zapp Brannigan: @muppet_baby: I'm torn here. On the one hand, she clearly had good intentions. But isn't it insulting to suggest that some imitator in MJ drag is sufficient? A video clip would have been better. I mean, does she want Britney Spears someday saying "Give it up for the Queen" while some old lady in a wedding dress and blond wig dry humps the floor?
Interesting Talk of the Town in the current New Yorker about Manu Dibango, a longtime African pop pioneer, from whom Jackson apparently cribbed -- without credit -- the "key Mama Se bridge." [www.newyorker.com]
@naugahydeinplainsight: Thanks for the link. I had heard that before about the chant being lifted from another source. "Wanna Be Startin Something" is my favorite track from Thriller, too.
I mean really, in the 80's Madonna and MJ were like PB&(M)J. Save for maybe Prince and Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and Michael were the most important stars of the time. And they knew it. Glad to see there is still some camaraderie - even if Madonna is only stoked to get a glimpse of what kind of send-off she can expect when she kicks.
@CoffeyWasHere: Absolutely. I thought about that. I'm fairly certain in my mom's photo albums somewhere there's a picture of tween me in a Madonna-like outfit (less trampy) in front of an MJ poster.

@MiracleDrug: But don't worry -- we don't have cable.

I do find it interesting that the trunks in the photo are much closer to Daniel Craig Bondwear than Speedos. Hm.
