    @Xinnix: Well, I'm not very acquainted with the preferences of insider white males -- so I'll defer to your greater familiarity there.

    But I strongly suggest that to derive some benefit from a punchy quote by Dave Hickey, all you need is a modest but sincere appreciation of original and idiosyncratic art criticism. One doesn't necessarily need to know Hickey's race (I don't know his background myself), or even one's own.

    After living in Phoenix for 6 years, I can't say I really argue with the ranking. ASU attracts slackers from CA and we are the dumber for it.

    Gah. Fresno must be the stand-in for the entire Central Valley. Sure they gave Sacramento a higher spot, but you know Fresno was a nod to Stockton, Lodi and Modesto.

    And yes, I used to live in Stockton for a while. And no, the smell doesn't wash out.
