    The state of New Jersey makes me wistful in way I can't quite put my finger on. I think large parts of it (and the Long Island suburbs) are the closest anyone who has roots in another country will get to actually touching the American dream.

    @misslinda: I don't know! My parents moved there (Philadelphia suburbs, actually) and then moved back to "the old country" TWICE, and since I have yet to morph into either Jhumpa Lahiri or Anne Tyler, I'm still working on expressing how I feel about it.

    @Tara Incognita: Same here. The RHNY recap recorded, but not the NJ show. I would have had a meltdown if I didn't have the recap to look forward to. In fact, I think I will save myself the 48 minutes per week and not watch the show at all and just go for the recaps.
