    I have not heard the moniker "The Strokes" since 2005. I guess they're still around. Best of luck to AA guy.

    @BookishLookish: The Virgins are a much better band in the same vein of The Strokes. They have way catchier hooks, snotty lyrics, and are more fun by the bucket. Plus! No tight pants! Their album was one of my favorites for 2008. [www.thevirgins.net]

    From Strokes' lead singer Julian Casablancas: "We'd like to thank all our fans for their concern and support at this time. First, let me say that Albert is in good hands and is on track to making a speedy recovery. It came to our attention during the most recent studio sessions this month, however, that Albert was increasingly looking out of fashion and had traded in his tight jeans for sweat pants. No longer a rumpled ball of expensively stylish thrift, he appeared generally disheveled in an outfit he told us was purchased at Wal-Mart. He repeated that he was tired of being cool, aloof, and writing retro-pop rock for a hyper-educated, affluent audience of "stiff" white people. We immediately knew the problem: Someone had let Albert out of his urban cage. He'd seen the outside and never wanted back in. But we never abandoned hope. And thanks to a wonderful treatment facility on the West Coast, Albert's currently resting in L.A. He'll be reprogrammed with vapid-electro-retro-shock therapy in the form of expensively branded vodka being piped into his arm while a bevy of scantily clad girls in American Apparel tassle his curly mop of hair. In a few weeks, he'll be back in New York to finish working on the record. Again...Thanks for all the support. Because, no, this isn't it.

    @DahlELama: Yeah, better a small fortune as he takes a small time out to go to rehab than a small fortune and "Rock Star Dies in Pool of Own Vomit". Let's stop shaming the ones who get help before it's too late. Good luck in your recovery, Al, if that's what you're up to.
