Among most of the people I know racial slurs of any kind are considered genuinely offensive and a sign of being low class and uneducated. So it is horrible and frightening to have the bubble burst like it has.

I have no doubt that the hate spreaders on TV and the radio aren't spreading their poison so that their fellow travelers will go shoot up the Holocaust Museum. That's just a by-product. They're spreading their hatred for the oldest motivation of all--greed. That, and the desire for fame that comes about by preaching the idea that the other is un-American, which is an idea that betrays what America (at least says) it is about.

This guy [www.post-gazette.com] cost the lives of three cops in Pittsburgh. What would it take for a right wing talker to actually stand up and say Obama has no interest in taking anyone's guns. Because he doesn't.
