    @momof3wildkids: It's good to think about the basic questions we need to be focused on, but this fellow has a number of issues: 1) George Mason 2) He is the "John Olin" professor of economics. Look up John Olin if you don't know who that was. 3) This was a speech delivered on a cruise from Italy to Greece. There is some significance there, but not sure what. In short, he's a laurelled economist with a megaphone who works at an institution so close to the evil powermongers that it can't be untainted (and Phil Gramm's wife is/was involved with the GMU Mercatus institute, for instance). In short, he's working for the bad guys. Watch what he does, not what he says.

    @Uncle_Billy_Slumming: I am probably someone you'd consider to be one of 'the bad guys' too. His views are a very extreme form of what I believe, but we are in the same ball park. I think if the health care bill (either of them) passes, we will see a lawsuit questioning the constitutionality of the law.

    @momof3wildkids: Unless you're knowingly employeed by or consulting with them, I don't think so. The bad guys to me are the people that tearing up the country with fear and hate through extremely effective use of propaganda.

    @Uncle_Billy_Slumming: Tossing the wet noodle of a conspiracy theory at a wall to see if it sticks, am hopeful that this email be a fake and nothing more than the propaganda of some green backlash group with their heads up their asses.

    Including the photo collage with the reported findings is a bit much.

    Tip: When you search "global warming reuters hoax" on gawker, nothing comes up. Did you miss this?

    The nominal hoaxters, the "Yes Men" said they got help from a group called Avaaz Action Factory. Did anyone point out that "Avaaz" is the hebrew name of a bird that makes a lot of noise? Did everyone believe that Reuters and MSNBC got suckered?

    If you look at the group that is said to have founded Avaaz, Res Publica, things get very foggy.

    What's @ 118 Madison @30th? There was a gaggle of models outside and in the lobby around 2:30 texting, blathering, and waiting to be picked up. (they were either models or an unusually attractive Girl Scout troop in town to catch the final performance of Shrek.) As this is something Gawker would want to know about, I looked at the building directory but nothing illuminating was revealed. You say there's a Victoria's Secret something in town?

    By email: I was on the set of GMA with a client of mine today and the Chaz Bono interview was pretty intense. According to staff on set, it was an amazing exclusive for them but when the subject of George Stephanopoulos vs. Chris Cuomo came up, they were wondering if George could or would even want to pull that interview off. "It’s great morning TV to have that exclusive and Cuomo pulled it off without making it feel awkward. I don’t know if George can do those types of interviews and This Week?", is what one staffer said and the other concern was that those interviews wouldn’t even happen with George there. "The interviews that Cuomo is good at, George couldn’t and probably wouldn’t want to do. You need those for ratings and if George doesn’t want to do them or can’t pull them off with some sensitivity, we lose ratings".
