Glenn Close is safe. Lots of people already thinks she's elitist -- and don't mind in the least. (Wasn't that the whole buzz behind her season on The Shield and her taking on Damages to begin with?)
@Carol Gardens: Same here. Now can we talk about how perfectly disgusting it was when they were having the meeting and the worker was squeegeeing the blood off of the window? I cringed and smiled at the same time.
why can't more gays be like NPH? smart, talented, great-looking in a suit, and doesn't seem to spend his weekends loaded and chasing after 23-year olds with go-go dancer bodies...
With that kind of a rule, you're ensuring that you're picking not from among the best performances, but from among the best shows still on the air.
By your estimation, Jason Bateman shouldn't have won the Golden Globe for best actor in a comedy because "Arrested Development" was cancelled that year. And if that's the logic your claim takes you to, you'd better be prepared for a whole army of people to disagree.
The fact that "Two and a Half Men" won anything again is a travesty to me. I love Ducky but that show it total crap. How in God's name does anyone affiliated with that show get into the Top 5 nominations is beyond my comprehension.
@invisibletotheeye: I've seen both the opening number and the "Dr. Horrible" thing on YouTube.
And because we should probably expect a quick yank for copyright, I'll offer this link to the official archive of the open and another to the pirated skit on YouTube.

the biggest laugh for me of the night was sarah silverman in a mustache. she really delivered that one -- that sort of deadpan isn't easy to pull off.
Not to mention a woman (even a lady comedian) who throws vanity to the wind on national tv.
