Keith Olbermann and Rupert Murdoch's media empire keep adding to their illustrious history of mutual hatred. Last month, the Murdoch-owned Post's Page Six accused the broadcaster of valuing ketchup more than the memory of the newly dead Tim Russert. Earlier this week, Page Six ran a particularly provocative item accusing Olbermann of being, uh, too nice to the departed Tony Snow. And last night, Olbermann had his revenge for that; he was forced to call Page Six "sick, sick people" and big liars for all their lying lies. Click to watch his righteous thunder. Nonpartisan journalist Bill O'Reilly is a man who calls em how he sees em, and that means that he's not afraid to give credit to the liberal lie-mongering site HuffPo when credit is due. When former Bush flack Tony Snow died last weekend, the AP ran an obit that was not 100% positive. Even worse, "The LA Times website allowed loons to post vile things about Tony Snow." O'Reilly condemns these examples of factual reporting and free speech, respectively; but he actually praises foreign-born socialist Arianna Huffington for scrubbing her site of all Snow smears. Conservative talking head and former George W. Bush press secretary Tony Snow died of colon cancer today. He was 53. After a decade at Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, Snow served 17 months in the Bush administration, from May 2006 through September 2007. "Although a star in conservative politics, as a commentator he had not always been on the president's side. He once called Bush 'something of an embarrassment' in conservative circles and criticized what he called Bush's 'lackluster' domestic policy." More »

Gawker Commenters Made Greg Gutfeld, Hercules Cry
So we wrote about former White House press secretary Tony Snow's poor health the other day. And some commenters said some dickish things. That upset staunch defender of morality, public decency, and polite discourse Greg Gutfeld, who hosts a show on Fox News at 3 a.m.. So instead of his usual "aren't gay people so gay" commentary, he used his "Greg-alogue" to attack "Gawker's faceless commenters who take ghoulish glee in Snow's health." Greg Gutfeld, you see, would really like us to write about him, again, and he'd like you guys to comment on it, so that he can talk about it again so we run another clip and so forth until the plague comes. (It's the only way for him to create a false sense of power and achievement that's missing in his marginal life.) Then they ask Kevin Sorbo if he ever goes online to see what people write about him. Has anyone ever written anything about Kevin Sorbo on the internet? Until now? Maybe there was a particularly cruel Prodigy bulletin board post about him in 1996 or something, but he sure seems angry.

Tony Snow's Struggle For A Normal Life
This is sad: Tony Snow, the former White House spokesman and newly-hired CNN talking head, was taken to the hospital this morning and canceled a speech at Eastern Washington University as well as an appearance on CNN. Snow has been battling cancer since a 2005 and left his White House job in 2007, saying he needed to earn more money. His cancer, he said, was not behind his departure, and in fact was in remission. Just this Monday, Snow said on a radio show that "the stuff I have right now is not all that rough" and that a recent CAT scan showed his tumors weren't growing. Snow is maintaining an optimistic outlook, and trying to live a normal life. But, for the moment at least, he can't. Whatever one thinks of Snow's work on behalf of the Bush administration, he is a human being, with a very human desire to keep working, earn some money for his family and focus on the life still before him, rather than spend time contemplating some of the darker questions somewhere down the road. Men's Health editor David Zinczenko, the AMC 2007 chairman, is super jazzed about it. But should he be? Former keynote speakers included former President Bill Clinton, former future presidents Barack Obama and John McCain. Tony Snow was a regular guest host for the Rush Limbaugh Show and frontman for the band "Beats Workin'." He did, as Zinczenko made sure to mention, survive the cancer that God so unjustly gave him.
