    Note to future readers of this live blog:

    Comments appear in reverse-chronological order, and only about 100 comments appear on each page (out of over 1,000 comments in the entire thread).

    So, in order to read all the comments, you need to push the link that says "Older threads" at the bottom of this page -- and then you have to keep clicking the "Older threads" link again, over and over, until all 1,000 or so comments have downloaded. Then you can read the whole thing from the bottom up.
