A podcast like All Songs Considered does a world more good for me in this department than Paste. Movies! Books! Gram Parsons! is about right.
And Jonah Goldberg is a sad fat clown who lies. Rush Limbaugh is NOT going to be happy when he hears about Jonah claiming to have sorta maybe stood up just a second, later, for Obama. WAY TO KISS THE SOCIALIST NEGRO'S ASS, JONAH. Christ, at least Lucianne has some balls.
I used to love the idea of Paste, but I don't love Paste. Hard-to-read and illogical design and the Emergent bands-to-watch feature rarely features bands that are worth watching. It's like, I can read a blog for an overly long, unedited, mostly fanboyish piece on Ben Gibbard. That is, until they give me a go-ahead on a proposal. Then it'll be my favorite music magazine ever. Pst, Paste. Call me.
To answer your question, it's different from the Post because images of mutillated bodies are far less disturbing for readers to be bombarded with than photos of Andrea Peyser.
