I'm just going to say this because it's my lot in life. Just found out yesterday that there will be two more Vin Diesel, Riddick movies, a sequel to that Death Race thing with Statham, and now another Transformers bastardization. *sigh* All this schlocky Hollywood auto-pilot nonsense, and sequels that deserve a chance, Serenity, (yes, of course I mean Serenity) no one wants to make? Ridiculous. Micheal Bay is what's wrong with the world. Well, him, and giant, nesting cicadas that plague some parts of the country every 17 years like a swarm of flying cockroaches, until they die and fall from trees like crispy bug-cracklins, the second phase of the nightmare. Yeah, Bay is like that.
@sarrible: Maybe. But not when you're in the thick of 'dem cicadas. Naw. That's pretty damn vile and disconcerting. Like that scene in the Temple of Doom when you stick your hand in the infested wall and can feel the horror even without seeing it. Yah. That was watching Transformers this summer.
@MarkB: Yah. There's nothing wholly wrong with the Riddick series. Did the second one rock like Pitch Black? Not nearly. But I do think given the chance to be explored it could be of that caliber. The operative words are "given the chance." Now Serenity in my geeked out opinion was practically pitch perfect, yet Universal is holding out, and don't get me started on Whedon and his short attention span when it doesn't involve Eliza Dushku. If he would pen a decent script and let Universal or some other studio have at it, then maybe he wouldn't be so frustrated when nobody really likes his fantasy girl show. I swear that man's genius is caught under his high school jock strap.
Whatever, it was freakin big, and yeah, it was stuck. You know the machine is gigantic when it not only knocks a bulldozer around, but picks it up and gets the bulldozer stuck in its craw.
@power_stroke: The woman who wrote the series is a Mormon and there's a general abstinence theme throughout the whole series (they don't sleep together until they're married and RPattz's character will not engage in anything more than kissing before then because he's afraid he will "lose control")
