Because it's so under-remarked on, I feel like every time Anna Paquin's name pops up here, I have to mention her unbelievably sexy appearance (not big enough to be a role, it's practically a cameo) in The Squid and the Whale.

Perhaps I'm just off base here, and this is not a major issue in anyone else's life, but...damn. That woman has something.

Thanks for pointing out that the accents on the show are terrible. I guess people in places like Santa Monica and New York think all southern accents are Texan-sounding. At least they didn't go for the "Foghorn Leghorn" thing.

The people depicted on that show should have an accent that's in the middle of a "Cajun-Southern-Latin" triangle. Not too heavy on the "Kay-jown," with all the fixin's of a Southern accent, as well as remnants of French and Spanish. In fact, at least a couple of those vampires should speak with a French (and Hispanic) accent, if you want to get technical.

That was the most unfulfilling season finale I've seen in quite some time. What a let down! I still love the show and will watch when it comes back next summer. After all, season one of Six Feet Under was rather lackluster too, in all its quirky genius. (ie. it took awhile before it truly got into its groove)

I'm not a fan of Dexter, but its season finale is next wknd and I'll be watching. Then? No decent tv until mid to late spring. ugh God I hate cable series schedules!

@vaquero: Oh honey, as they said in Finding Forrester, that's not exactly a soup question is it? I don't know nothing, but there was a huge bruhaha back in May between Wookie and Tracie/Slut Machine, an editor over at Jez. It went down in a spiegelman thread here and a day or so later in a Jez thread where Tracie named checked Wookie, like with her real first name or alias or Pokemon power or whatever. I don't know when, where or how that ended up in reaping the wrath on Unfun, though, because when I reread the May thread, Unfun was friendly with Wookie. There is the whole Baugher connection as well which is all kinds of mind-numbing. But, I am told that us news do not speak of such things and best just keep to posting youtubes and hitting on each other.

I did do a search and am in the process of filling myself in on the particulars of the Friday wars.

Hoping you all know that there is one particular troll who keeps assuming different "identities" in order to rile folks up. This person continually gets executed and then comes back with a different user name. When I first began to comment (after silently and fearfully lurking) I got very enraged over some of this person's comments. But that's why they do it!

So, there's this ongoing tension -- do I tell this asshole what's what? Or do I thwart their desire for attention by ignoring them?

I don't know. What's more fun?

Not a rhetorical question but a real one: is the entertainment value of engaging with trolls worth more than the satisfaction of shutting them down by ignoring them? Or is the satisfaction of ignoring them greater than the joy of scoring a quick put-down?

The troll needs serious psychiatric help, obvs, but ain't gonna get it here.
