In reply to Re-Tweet Redesign Helps the Rich Get Richer on Twitter
Am I the only one that still hasn't seen the RT button show up? Someone said it was next to the reply button that one sees when he/she scrolls over a tweet in his/her feed, but I've not come across it. #twitter

This will succeed. I can see it now, with Jerry Stiller starring as the dad. No, I literally meant I could see it now, in syndication, since this is basically George's dad in Seinfeld. #twitter

@MrInBetween: I'm reticent to admit it, but you are probably right. The content of the Twitter feed would play truer on a cable channel. If they scrub the tweets down, it just won't be the same. Even Archie Bunker pushed the envelope saying "terlet" on network.

Also, Justin Halpern? Thanks for making me laugh my ass off repeatedly. Way to turn a negative into a good (moving home with the 'rents, that is). Congrats! #twitter

Meh, how many of these "wonder kids" we saw during the last dotcom bust a decade ago and yet we hear nothing from them nowadays?

I read something about this kid daniel a while ago: his startup is merely a custom wordpress site, not even coded (if you can call putting a WP site together coding) by him but some 25 yr old which he payed for that if I recall correctly.

But you know whats even funnier? Back in my teens I would stumble with guys like daniel all the time. They were a dime-a-dozen, and all of them my age or even a couple years older.

Problem? well, to put it simple none of them could keep up with the BS: having some knowledge in tech just didnt compare to a CS graduate, and as soon as they reached their 20s the bright kid was replaced by an average guy who couldnt do what most of his peers did everyday.

Being so reluctant to even try college, to the point of calling it a waste of time ('cause working in a common startup for 5 years until its bankrupt really pays out!) this kid is going to find himself flipping burgers and living with his parents well into his 30s.

In a scam like this, you can only keep pumping bullshit until a better scammer comes by, which is what daniel over here is going to learn the hard way in a few years from now.

This kid is basically a product, like a star child being push fowards by his money-grabbing parents.

    The Iranian "revolution"?

Oh, y'mean that National Endowment For Democracy-backed astroturf campaign? The one where some British company shipped in thousands of little portable digital cameras so that we could see all those "viral" videos of what was happening in the streets?

What color was that one, anyway? Green, or something? #iran

Though the charges have since been dropped, but if an American can be arrested for twittering a "revolution", then our government can't really condemn others for cracking down on those in the field.

@Pope John Peeps II: Agreed, but when I first heard of the Madison fellow's arrest, I immediately thought of the shot to our credibility, if we were to condemn other governments for making similar arrests.

It's sort of like when the Bush-era waterboarding story was confirmed. It wasn't even days until comparisons were made to WWII-era convictions for war crimes.

Sure, the charges against Mr. Madison have been dropped, but if we want to be able to encourage social networking as a means to organize, then we can't be arresting people for doing the same thing. #iran

Interesting. But numbers alone arent the only issue. In terms of organizing, sometimes it is just as important to have the "influencers"-- ie, those people who can round up their friends/family/coworkers etc. -- in touch with each other. If twitter helped these "influencers" gain a sense of momentum and round people up, it served a far-reaching purpose.

@calwilson37001: Right. I'm very confused about the point of this post. A small number of twittering activists helped "foment" the protests that were seen and heard around the world against a despotic regime that could use a lot more of that kind of internal pressure, and that's...bad? Because there aren't a lot of people online in Iran itself? #iran

@Claire Buoyant: Here's his blog. [www.politicalbyline.com] . Seems like a charming young fellow. Apparently, he believes that, because Joseph Cao was born in Vietnam and because fat Pat had an who uncle fought there, the Congressman had an obligation to vote against the Affordable Health Care for America Act, which incidentally is in "lockstep with what the Vietcong believed in" - because, of course, the Vietnam War was fought to keep America free of universal healthcare.

@atlasfugged: Whoa-ho. Wow. Thanks for the link.

Vn Americans who came from southern Vietnam right after the war are some of the most consistently conservative voters in the US. Anyone who fled Vn after the war was fighting on the same side as the Americans, like, for example, Cao's father.

But you know, expecting any knowledge of history or nuance from this dipshit was probably a mistake after reading his profound insights that "All Asians = Chairman Mao!" and "Michael Steele = basketball player!" #racism
