    AC doesn't really bother me too much in terms of "out"--I mean, we all know he's gay, and he's not exactly bad PR. I'm more annoyed that he has the job he does, given that his skill set is on the level of the gadget guy who screams about the wonders of ped-eggs and their ability to catch foot cheese....

    Every time I criticize AC for being a big closet case, someone--and I'm pretty sure it's my mom--logs onto Gawker using an alias and tells me, in effect, to "be nice." It looks like we can finally bury the hatchet.

    @lawyergay: considering the amount of time he spends in Chelsea and the company he keeps, he's really not that in the closet - I think it's more a running gag (reflex) on those who can't put the pieces together.

    @eleusiswalks: I don't disagree, but he's had some very humorous coy moments on air that made it well worth the wait - and he's done his fair share of taking down bigots and haters on national television, so give a little take a little in my book.

    @eleusiswalks: Exactly. He's rich by birth, white, "aristocratic," and successful in his own right. While I can certainly understand not wanting to do the rubber chicken fundraising/activist circuit for personal reasons, I don't see any reason why AC can't just say something along the lines of "I'm gay and stop fucking with us, America" on his prime-time TV show. It's not a CNN thing or a career/success thing...it's a personal thing with him, and it's painfully obvious to the rest of us who have had the courage to come out.

    1) This will officially mean that I will never be able to have him. :-(


    2) Is Sapphire Lounge in NYC b/c Pride has been pushed back to October here in Atlanta (where I presume he lives b/c that's where he works). We can thank Piedmont Park and Atlanta Parks Services for that - despite the lift on the drought.

    A bit OT - but on a plane ride back to NYC from CA I sat behind and across the isle from a guy looking at pictures on his laptop for the majority of his trip. It was basically a long slideshow for my enjoyment. (At least that's how I saw it.) They were all of him on some sort of gaycation in a tropical location with Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Anderson Cooper & some random other guys. Several with Anderson and a Mr. Anonymous hanging on each other. All having a fantastic time, it seems. It was all pretty cute, actually. But any discretion on this friend's part? Not so much. That is all.
