It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the net-neutrality debate, what with Comcast now in a position to bottleneck its competitors' online content...

I predict the sale of NBC to Comcast will be stopped by Federal regulators.

This article at THR says Baldwin isn't planning on retiring until 2012. Clearly, this is what the Mayans were counting down to.

@Poop Cooper: Yeah, I also remember reading yesterday that it was 2012. Please confirm/fix, as this is of incredible life-or-death importance.

Variety was subscription-based for years, like WWD. Not sure when they switched to free, but it wasn't all that long ago.

The definition of "potboiler" is: "a poor quality novel or other creative work that was created quickly to make money to pay for the creator's daily expenses." O'Neill spent the better part of a decade writing Netherland and won the PEN/Faulkner Award. Hardly done quickly or of poor quality.

I really hope Justin Timberlake does the theme song for the new Lee/DeNiro show. "Take it on down to Alphaville!"
