Didn't the Atlantic Monthly do an "edgy" redesign exactly like this a couple of months ago?

And by the way, is Fareed Zakaria even sillier than Tom Friedman?

@Surly Duck: The funny thing is, doctors et al. get a "professional" rate that's just pennies on the dollar as far as the cover price goes. By eliminating the average jerks from their rosters, they're getting rid of the people who actually pay full price for that dreck.

And memo to Newsweak: we're already mocking you. Newsweak as Slate? I just blew Diet Coke on my screen from laughing.

Dude, a weekly magazine attempting to produce timely reporting is totally unrealistic and outdated. And isn't Newsweek just for show in doctors' offices, doesn't Newsweek just, like, sit there while everyone actually reads Better Homes, or O, or Redbook, or Highlights for Kids, or anything that's not Newsweek? Isn't the whole point of the doctor's office market that the content is virtually irrelevant? And what would replace it?

@lempha: Wait, I just read the funny quotes page in Newsweek. I didn't know there were supposed to be actual news stories.
