In one of the few Fallon webisodes I saw (before I realized that the payoff for watching them didn't justify the effort it took me to click on "play"), he interviewed Fred Armisen, after which I felt compelled to ask, Why didn't they give the Conan time slot to the infinitely funnier Armisen?
I don't think the nonfunny of Fallon would matter half as much if he could balance it with a bit of substance (I think of Letterman after 9/11 and Conan when Chris Farley died and such). I think that Fallon, like Armisen and Dana Carvey, is always "on," but his "on" is never that great.
Oh my god, look at me: did I really write 100-odd words about Jimmy Fallon? No wonder someone took away my star ...
My favorite Jimmy Fallon appearance is when I dreamed that he and I were a Ghost Hunting dream. That was awesome. Too bad he actually didn't have anything to do with that...
If everyone is moving up a time slot, how come Carson Daly didn't get to move? I've never seen his show, but I'm sure he would have appreciated being considered.
@Mount_Prion: Is he trying to be funny in this video? I'm really glad he showed us the mug. I was really nervous that detail was going to be overlooked.

Maybe that's the angle he's going for here?
