    Right or wrong, if our government quiets all voices with different opinons than theirs, we find ourselves exactly where Germany was 70 years ago. Fox is no worse a conservative opinion than MSNBC is a liberal opinion.

    the whitehouse didn't decide anything for anyone. they issued a statement and gibbs very specifically said that it was their 'opinion'.

    fox news has completely blurred the lines between reporting and ridiculous pundit opinions...and that is the main problem people have with the organization.
    the more beck is highlighted as a ridiculous, inflammatory, bullshitting idiot, the higher his ratings go. you think they'll get rid of him in the name of journalistic purity? i doubt it. the same goes for just about every 'news' show that station has right now.

    I think Tapper is correct; it isn't up to the WH to decide what is or isn't a "legitimate" news outlet. But then, I use Gawker as my major source of news. You should have a WH correspondent.

    Just say that you grant that Reagan personally won the Cold War when he, as president, carried forth a decades-old arms race started by others and it came to its conclusion during his terms. if so, he won the cold war by defeating his enemies. You don't get peace prizes for creating peace by defeating your enemy. You get such prizes for gaining peace through negotiation.
