    I am curious if this incident hurt his web traffic or advertising prospects at all. He greatly exaggerates his traffic, but despite a call to "unfollow" him on Twitter, his popularity on that banal tool continued to grow.


    Or, you know, his people told him to do it so he can do the traditional celebrity appologize, rehabilitate and come back thing.

    The other thing I am slightly surprised with is that we haven't heard anything from his good friend, Lady Gaga. Per the photos of the actual fight, she was standing right there with Perez. I am surprised she has not weighed in on this situation to defend her friend.

    But in Canada, deluded "religious" people can "communicate hatred" based on race, color, creed, etc. just because that hatred is part of their religion?

    Lovely to see that in the midst of his alleged bout of humility, he manages to still be a vindictive little snot toward GLAAD, and make a patronizing, emtpy gesture of charity about donating proceeds from his magical lawsuit, which will probably end up costing him money.


    The Isiah Washington bit is a plant, to get him side mentions in the press wondering why he brought it up.


    Every aspect of this incident was entirely his fault. This fauxpology is a pile of crap, just like him.

    @unclevanya: I had forgotten about the Isiah Washington bit. But now that he brought it up - I am surprised it hasn't been mentioned prior to this. Perez crucified Washington for doing EXACTLY what Perez has done.

    @TriedandTrue: I don't know... I think in a lot of ways, what Mario did was worse. From my understanding of the Isiah debacle, he used a slur without really thinking about the full weight of the words he was using... and admittedly, not knowing any of the parties involved in any of these situations, I still think his apology was at least somewhat genuine. Mario, on the other hand, as a gay man knew full well the damaging power of the words he was using (and even admitted to as much himself). He chose to use them for the maximum impact they would have, and his apology seems nothing more than a contrived bid to grab back his last remaining shreds of dignity (news flash: there weren't any to begin with). I think that makes him more reprehensible than Isiah Washington could ever be.
