I'm surprised there was an Asbestos ad like that in the 80's. I thought companies knew that asbestos was bad for people during the 60's? I work in toxic tort law (asbestos litigation) and usually stuff from the 80's and 90's doesn't come up because companies were already removing abestos from their products/buildings.

The link below is to an image MUCH creepier, as far as 9/11 premonitions go:

I thought the removal of the asbestos was one of the reasons the building flattened like a pancake.

I *knew* this ad couldn't be from 1998. The type was too dated, the photo doesn't have the World Financial Center, and the text has no URL. Also, speaking from experience, the Port Authority had been removing asbestos from the building around this time.

I want to call it the "Okay listen up. You attack us and we wind up with southerners and midwesterners voting for a retarded cowboy in the next election and he hatches all these half-baked schemes to ride roughshod all over the world defending our "way of life." He pisses on our country and makes a mess and mockery out of your country or countries. Even though we in New York didn't vote for that asswipe at any time, you decided to attack us anyway. And then your idiotic actions caused a whole bunch of hillbillies to think the retarded cowboy kept us "safe" (regardless of the fact that the attack happened on his watch) and vote him back into office. And now look at the world. Are you happy now? So keep your terrorism to yourself and no one gets hurt. We mean that." Tower.

@BxgrlJeri: i mean, you are aware that it only requires about 1/4 of the american people to have actually gotten up and voted for you to become president, right? and that bush garnered quite a few votes in ny (you know, the state that until recently had a republican governor, the city that's last two mayors were republican, etc etc)?

blue states lose because they are full of smug retards who deserve to be blown up. srsly look it up, it's probably on the internet somewhere! signed, a born and bred new yorker who is sick of getting a bad reputation ffs.

I guess I naively thought we'd moved beyond the whole us-v.-them, red-v.-blue, Fuck-the-South mentality. Especially after Obama carried 28 states in November, 27 of which weren't New York.

i'd like to point out that ms. nancy sey of south carolina is making an excellent point -- we really should rename ALL of our buildings in nyc to things that tourists can easily understand and digest, because, honestly, who felt the brunt of 9/11 more than people who come to nyc on field trips??
