Why Did the Huffington Post Censor the Jewish Obama Hate Speech Video? |

Think for a second that these guys have been in a non-stop war for the last 60 years or more, have a decaying middle class and rising poverty. Most of their morale is based around what we here would consider racism. Plus the influx of russian jews doesn't helps, since russians are knows for their extreme views on race.
Not that arab muslims are any better: they call black africans "cochroaches" and most of them hate non-arab muslims (although not as much as they hate christians, jews and anybody else).
Problem with this behaviour is that it could eventually lead to an anti-israel sentiment in the US, therefore cutting all aid from DC, and triggering a panic attack from the Likud and other israeli conservatives.
Add almost 100 warheads to the equation and you have World War III

Second, I myself have been suppressed whenever I have sought to break into major blogs with my own hysterical hyperbole of attention-whoring devices.
Third, just what precisely is "newsworthy" about stray assinine jerkoffs acting up after ODing on narcissism and booze? It is more common than all the cats not lost this day, and is happening somewhere in millions of dorms even as I write.

Is it agit-prop? Sure. Does it have a point? Yes, it does. I'm actually pretty shocked HuffPo took this stance. I mean, it was shot the night before a major speech in the region; you can't argue that it's not newsworthy, no matter how much you want to attribute the attitudes expressed to alcohol. I mean, I know it's self-selecting, but since I graduated from high school eons ago, I've never spent time with people who spew this kind of racial bile, no matter how drunk.

So...mostly liberal. Except for this one issue.

For any American who is a part of Judaism - and I can only speak as a reform Jew - it's embarrassing, sickening and humiliating to watch those dickbags talking like racist skinheads. I'd expect that shit in Texas, not in Israel. I wish I could reach into the video and choke someone.
I'm not defending the Huffington Post. I'm not criticizing you guys, either.
I'm just saying. The video just makes me feel horribly awful inside and I wish it wasn't true. Maybe someone over at the HPost feels the same way, and maybe they're not thinking like journalists.

Is that what journalists supposed to do? really?
And here I was thinking they were supposed to write self aggrandizing crap while kissing all the right asses.
I stand corrected.

I can't get behind them and I won't excuse them for being "drunken jerks." Because there is no fucking excuse for being hateful. And if these guys where white southerns or if this video was taken of stoned guys in Cairo (yes, pot is alcohol in Muslim countries where people can't have booze), people wouldn't be making excuses. And those that tried to excuse such hateful behavior would be smacked down. Seriously.

No one is saying that these hateful fucks speak for an entire religion. At the very least, as someone who's had to see and hear people attribute terrorism and hating this country (Thanks Rush) to my own religion, I'm not.
That still doesn't excuse this shit. I wish those fuckers would have to answer for spewing this racist shit, though.

What I said was: "I can't believe that any English-speaking group of people anywhere outside of Alabama can not only spew this shit, but are perfectly comfortable -- and safe -- doing it at top volume in large crowds."
The statement accurately reflects the fact that, in my own experience, I *have* heard such things spoken in Alabama -- therefore, I cannot pretend that this video is the only place I've seen such utterances.

Being drunk does not change the true nature of the person. When I get drunk, I don't go beat up homeless people, rape women or torture animals, because those are not desires lying just below my exterior needing an excuse to surface. Alcohol does not make you a racist. You might be a racist that can control his or her tongue when you are sober and can't when you drink, but all that does is makes you a slightly better class of racist than the ones who go around in every day life spouting out hatred.
I don't think that this video is indicative of the thoughts of most Jewish people or even most young Jewish people. There are few races (if I use that term correctly) of people who can understand the horrors of prejudice than the Jews. However, the fact that Blumenthal was able to find one person, let alone the scores of human beings, that were willing to say these things on camera is a sad state of affairs.
@if_i_only_had_a_heart: Then how do you explain the fact that a quarter of the state's population is African American? I can really reconcile this either. Just asking.

I'm not entirely sure, because that video is pretty dark. But, I'm 90% sure she went to my high school.
Yes, she's dumb, but she goes to a half decent school (Ohio State), which scares the shit out of me, because it's not like she goes to community college.

It's like judging someone's cooking skills by the brand of appliances they buy. Sure, top-of-the-line viking ranges are versatile and well-designed, but if you're a shitty cook, spending the extra $6000 isn't going to make your food any better. And if you're a good cook, you can create amazing meals with a Sanyo hot plate.

Not reporting something and censorship aren't the same thing.

As far as I'm concerned the problem is the Jews or the Israelis -- it's religious extremism and this cult-like mentality about the land and who has a right to live there. For the most part, the Arabs are saying "hey, that olive grove belonged to my grandfather" while the Jewish settler goes ape shit about 2,000 year old religious prophesy. In that context: the settler sound like the radical.

Mt of Olives: I don't think you have to worry about that being turned into a nest of Hamas terrorists. (Also: It's also a very important Christian site, not just Jewish.) Even under Jordanian rule it had an Intercontinental Hotel, people wer efree to come and go. No bombs. In any case, if Jerusalem were ever partitioned (with Old City given separate status as Bill Clinton had suggested) then Mt. of Olives would not be an issue.
The big problem are those "mostly" secular suburbs (by which you mean wholly comprised of Orthodox Jews -- it's not like these 'burbs are melting pots). I guess I shouldn't stereotype the settlers, but this is appropriated land. Some of these burbs weren't incorporated until the 80s. It's going to be hell working that out, but clearly the Arabs have a stake in Judea & Samaria and I think the argument that Israel should gerrymander the West Bank will leads to a protracted battle.
My comments about the settlers I think comes from my frustration that when it comes to media coverage, it's OK to depict all Palestinians as crazy suicide bombers but as soon as a clip showing some crazy settlers hits the media, there's all this discussion about how bias it is to depict settlers in that manner, and that the videos are out of context, or made by people with agendas.
